PIER BLUE INN Old Saybrook - Essex

I had some issues with my initial booking experience that were entirely of my own fault. The staff were incredibly helpful in getting the issues sorted and ensuring my stay was possible. For my stay, the hotel was perfect. It was clean, comfortable and a wonderful experience overall. I would highly recommend that if you chose to stay here that you also visit the restaraunt next door called the Himalaya Cafe for lovely Indian cuisine. I did enjoy my stay here and should I be in this area again, I would absolutely consider this location again.

The location

The room had noticeable bugs, fortunately not bed bugs; The floor, linoleum sheet, had not been swept as our feet had sand or dirt after walking across it, after showering, which was factually noticed when putting on socks; We had problems with key cards one did not work, even after re-coding, and the other displayed a green light, but handle would not pull back door latch until several attempts after re-inserting card(s). No internet code was provided.

Staff was incredibly communicative, kind, and patient. Definitely recommend and we would stay again!

Was a little grubby and run down, glad it was only 1 night.

Room was not very clean and smelled awful. We were booked for 2 nights and left after a couple hours but were not able to get a refund. Not a good experience

Was clean and well maintained. Price was decent. Lack of breakfast was only minus.

Good for passing by.

No hot water after 10am!!!
