Review for L’Auberge Del Mar We chose L’Auberge for our anniversary trip. The property itself feels a bit tired (rooms and common spaces could use some refreshing), though the location is undeniably lovely. For our anniversary dinner, we decided to try Adelaide, the on-site restaurant. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. Service from our server was lacking, and the steak we ordered was poorly executed—it tasted like it had been torched to achieve the char we requested, leaving an unpleasant flavor. At the price point, it fell well short of expectations. The side dish that came with it also arrived cold. Overall, the food was just okay and not worth the premium pricing. On the positive side, some of the staff were excellent—Leo bar staff and Elyse at the front desk really stood out with their warmth and professionalism. Others, however, could benefit from additional training to elevate the guest experience to match the resort’s reputation. We also encountered some confusion around room rates and resort fees, but Elyse was proactive and helpful in resolving it, which we truly appreciated. In short, beautiful setting and a few standout staff members, but the overall value and dining experience left us underwhelmed.

Not bad, not great. Goodf location however. With a little TLC and maintenance, this place could be so much better. Gym is lacking, wifi can be spotty, especially on beach side, tennis courts a mess. Cobwebs often seen exterior, for weeks mos...as Ive been several times over the summer

Our experience at the Spa at L’Auberge, Del Mar was nothing short of exceptional! I had the most incredible collagen facial with Shay, who not only treated my skin to perfection, but also gave me one of the best arm and hand massages I've ever had during a facial, I completely drifted away! I can't wait to try the products at home - their new line Valmont is to die for. My husband had a massage with Tammy, who completely relieved his shoulder pain. He shared how much he appreciated her attentive consultation and the way she checked in throughout - I've never seen him so relaxed. Sarah curated the perfect spa day for us and went above and beyond by surprising us with pineapple mimosas to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was such a thoughtful touch. Rani at the front desk was equally wonderful - gracious, welcoming, and so kind during both check-in and check-out. We ended our visit with lunch at Adelaide’s, where we received attentive service and enjoyed a beautiful ocean view, it was the perfect finish to an already unforgettable day. We can’t wait to come back!

This is property gets 5 stars for location and service. It is quite expensive because it is an upscale experience where the staff and accommodations are Top Notch and the Location is Prime. The valet was quick to move cars and keep things moving! They even have a couple shuttles... one big Escalade and one Sprinter van. They provided shuttles to and from the Del Mar racetrack which was very much appreciated. I assume these same shuttles can take you short distances around the area too other than the racetrack. They also have a beach golf cart that can take you to/from the beach and to short distances in the main part of town. Doug is especially delightful; we saw him several times and he always greeted us cheerfully and asked about our day. The front desk is quick and efficient. I appreciated the text messages they sent welcoming us. We saw that they offer yoga classes. I'd suggest calling the property for times and sign-up information as they may change from day to day. The location of the one yoga class we saw was outside on their 2nd floor deck which was not covered nor shaded. So, be prepared for a "hot" yoga class if it is sunny and warm outside like it was the weekend we were there. The views though from the 2nd floor deck are beautiful though as you look out towards the ocean. They did provide yoga mats, so you don't need to bring your own. The one downside.... is if you want an adult get-away, this may not be the property for you nor me. On the one occasion that we wanted to use the hot tub, there were kids in the hot tub with floaties thereby blocking anyone else from using said amenity. And then they proceeded to hop back and forth from the pool to the hot tub with their floaties. I don't know if the floaties were provided by the hotel or not, but we stayed for about an hour, and then left not wanting to wait any longer since it appeared they were going to enjoy themselves for quite some time. Perhaps we should have come some other time that was not a holiday weekend. 100% my own fault for not investigating the property better.

The hotel is lovely, but be careful when booking your room, the view from the Coast rooms is only when you are standing on the balcony, not from the window. Very disappointing to pay $1000 more for a room over the weekend and not have the view I was expecting.

The staff took such good care of us. We arrived tired and hungry after a day of travel, just after closing time, to a full restaurant and bar. Each restaurant around the area was closed. Our server, Sirroc, was attentive, quick, friendly and made us feel unrushed and welcome. The food was perfect, delicious and top tier. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Hotel is amazing. Rooms are a little dated. Our sink was cracked and we could hear the ice maker all night. Overall great hotel and love the location!

L’Auberge Del Mar is my home away from home. Great service throughout, from Shawn at valet with his excellent recommendations, housekeeping staff will always keep your suite stocked and Chris’s wonderful professionalism at the front desk. L’Auberge Del Mar never disappoints.
