Hostal Comarca Imperial

Property is beautiful! You should like to walk to stay here as the surrounding streets are quite hilly. Room was nice and clean. I felt safe and welcomed at all times. And the price was excellent!

“Didn’t like” isn’t really how I’d describe it, but there are just some things travelers should expect when they stay here. It’s about a half block off a street so be prepared to carry luggage. Staff didn’t have much chance to break larger bills so you’ll need to go somewhere else. I had said I didn’t need cleaning a few times and that message was not carried over. I recommend writing a note to leave at the desk. Coffee isn’t set out. You’ll need to knock at the kitchen for a cup.

The hostel was comfy and in a good location, only a 10 min walk from the main plaza and right beside shops and restaurants. The bed was comfy and the showers were hot. The wifi worked very well.

There isn't any atmosphere in the hostel, it didn't matter to us much as we were up early to do some hikes, but if you were looking to meet people it wouldn't be good. Our room was also always really cold even during the day when it was sunny and warm.

Great location, be warned it's up the hill from the main square. In a cool area that is very historic. Streets are narrow and so not every vehicle can get in. Staff very friendly and helpful ( kept my case while I went to machu picchu for a couple days). Nothing fancy but great value. breakfast was the bare minimum but cooked eggs were nice. Perfect if you dont mind a few rough edges,

The staff was really helpful and kind. Location ok.

I stayed in 2 different ocasion. During the first night I was given a room with bathroom. The bathroom seemed to be a converted closed just to fill in the description. It should only be sold as a room without a bathroom. I only stayed during my second period only because I was promised a real room. On the second stay I did have a better room.

Super clean. Couple minutes of walk distance from Sun Blus plaza. Fully equipped shared kitchen. The staff was always available for any issues include arrangement of Machu Picchu trip.

Breakfast

Overall, the stay was pleasant. We stayed at this hostel multiple times during our trip to Cusco in between each of the overnight tours we took, so we saw a few different room set ups. All of the rooms were large and the showers had hot water. The breakfast was good (eggs on request, granola, yogurt, juice, coffee/tea) and they helped with our luggage storage while we were on the treks.

Unfortunately, you can hear everything in this hostel: every time someone opened or closed their room. The rooms are quite cold and drafty, and some of the personnel helping with the breakfast were unfriendly (one turned and walked away while I was talking to her).
