Avalon Hotel & Bungalows Palm Springs, a Member of Design Hotels

Total mixed bag and would likely not stay here again. Front desk staff is friendly and gave us a warm greeting upon arrival and was very helpful with the variety of challenges we had during our stay. Pros: front desk staff, easy walking distance to hiking and all that downtown PS has to offer, our terrace had a nice view of the mountains, well decorated pool area. Cons: no coffee maker in the room (very odd for a supposed 4 star hotel); the worst housekeeping I've ever experienced - we'd ask for towels and they'd bring bath mats, they didn't empty the trash, they didn't clean up obvious stains and mess, we ended up putting the trash in the hallway just to get it out of the room and then 3 other people on the floor did the same; room is also cheaply decorated and oddly missing furniture - it was big, but there was no chair and in the bathroom it was also well sized, but only had a tiny table to put your toiletries on - very odd!, there actually is free reserved parking behind the hotel but it took a few days before we were able to get an answer on that; the free coffee and pastries in the AM quickly ran out of pastries Overall, it just wasn't a great experience, but you can see the potential if someone actually cared

Everything was great. Beautiful, well maintained hotel. Nice staff and great amenities. The pools were nice. The fitness facility was great and the Pelotons were a nice addition. The food was also excellent. The room was nice. No issues at all.

We had a phenomenal experience staying at the Avalon. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. The hotel grounds were well maintained and the 3 pools provided different options for how to spend your day relaxing. But it was the staff that made the experience exceptional. Every staff member with whom we interacted made us feel we were part of their family. We can’t wait to return to the Avalon.

The exteriors are beautiful as ever, but some of the room & restaurant decor that Kelly Werstler designed has been altered & downgraded, not updated for better.

Jon at the bar has always provided the best experience. I continually go back to see him. Good selection of food and drinks.

The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. I ordered dinner at the bar where Jon, the bartender, was able to recommend drinks and anticipate what I wanted. Jon is fun and friendly while handling multiple orders and interacting with all of us. Good food, great drinks and a friendly welcoming atmosphere…highly recommend!

Loved our stay at the Avalon and spring break in Palm Springs. The location was fabulous, and the property was very clean. The staff were amazing and so pleasant. We especially enjoyed the bar. The vibes were so chill and the bartender, Jon, took such great care of us!

We love the Avalon! We come here every few months and are repeat visitors because of the amazing service we receive. John specifically always takes the best care of us and remembers us every time we arrive. It’s such a cozy hotel with amazing amenities and a relaxing vibe. It truly is our home away from home and we will continue to come back!

We had a trip down to Palm Springs and the coast in mid November. We booked the Avalon Hotel which is a short walk to the main strip. We checked in by Aris and Lynn. Both were excellent. We were not 100% happy with our first room, so they moved us to a beautiful bungalow. We stayed a total of five nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very boutique like. Nice pools and the Chi Chi restaurant was great. The staff there were totally friendly as well and food was great. They had coffee and danish in the am at 7 am as complimentary. We enjoyed the hotel very much and had lots of laughs with the front desk-bellman as well as Candice. Looking forward to going back!

This property is absolutely stunning and such a great “Palm Springs” vibe. Whenever I visit Palm Springs, I always make sure to hit up the hotel bar, even if I don’t stay at the Avalon. Jon is an excellent bartender and always makes us feel like old friends. As a sober person, it can be alienating and uncomfortable to hang out in bars when everyone is trying new drinks and having a great time. Jon always makes me feel included by making awesome “mocktails” that mimic what others are drinking and always has new alcohol free drink ideas for me to try. It really makes all the difference. Can’t wait to go back!
