Days Inn by Wyndham Middletown

We booked days Inn, we had to travel one extra day. We have stayed at many Days Inn across the country. This is the first place I have felt unsafe. The clerk, a large unkempt man behind the counter, never stood up or addressed me. He just took my info and gave me my key. We went through a heavy metal door, swinging loose, across tile coming up, hallway to 4 rooms behind the counter. Had soft spots on the floor. The room was very planned. The Inn looks like a converted motor lodge

Run down needs to be refurbished. But will do for a one night stay.

Expedia should do more research on the properties included on their site. This facility is dirty and very outdated. It should not be offered/promoted by Expedia.

This place is disgusting. Charging $165/200 a night should be illegal. The smell in the “office” was the first the red flag. We were offered an “inside” or “outside” room option. We picked inside…. And within 2 minutes of being in that room asked for another option. The smell was unbearable. The “outside” room was somewhat tolerable, but maybe that was due to the “black ice” car air freshener hanging on the door handle. The mirrors in both rooms look like they got wiped with dirty rags, dust and grime were all over the baseboard heaters, the smoke alarm was detached from the ceiling, the back of the door looked like it got punched 15 times, and the shower curtain was absolutely disgusting. It got one star because it least we got a quiet night’s sleep — but base on prior reviews of stained sheets, I slept on top of the (what appeared to be clean) bedding. When we checked out in the morning, we just left our keys on the front desk (at 9:30 am) because the manager/owner was snoring and sleeping upright in a chair. He was very nice and friendly at checkin, but c’mon. I never really write reviews, but this was absurd!!

The pictures online and reviews did not hold up once I got here. Instead of outside access room like is shown, I was shown a dark side hallway and a room practically inside the lobby. Based on the stains on everything and the dated look, I didn't even go down the hallway or in the room. When I asked for a different room option, the man hardly blinked and told me he refunded my travel company immediately.

The TV didn't work. I was kicked off the Wi-Fi after an hour and blocked. Blankets and bathroom were dirty. The shower was disgusting. Room had small beds - Doubles? Outside door - easy access but lots of road noise. No breakfast at 6:30 am. I asked about extending the stay by 1 night and the deskman had attitude about it. Staff smoked just a couple doors down so couldn't leave the window open. Not a good experience. For the cost 2 stars is extremely generous.

Pool was closed and rooms were in terrible condition with plaster throughout walls without being painted. Reserved a double queen room and was given a single bed room.
