Upon calling to inform the front desk that we’d be arriving late, we were immediately asked if we wanted to cancel our reservation. It was only then that we were informed the air conditioning was broken—and had been for some time. We were told that no fans were available because they were either in use or broken, and that the issue would not be fixed for weeks. The front desk agent’s tone and demeanor made it clear they were exhausted by the situation, which, while understandable, made us feel unwelcome and like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. Fortunately, a friend nearby was able to lend us a fan, which we placed in the sliding glass door to try and circulate air. This setup compromised our privacy, as we had to leave the curtains open with the lights off to avoid being visible from street level. The condition of the room itself added to the discomfort. It was evident that the property has not been maintained for some time: Peeling paint on the walls A stained and dingy upholstered chair Missing light bulbs in lamps A leaking bathtub faucet Peeling and discolored plastic around the drain It was by far one of the most rundown hotel experiences I’ve had, and not at all what was represented online.
