It’s closely located to Lajes, where many expeditions like whale watching start from. Within a 20 minute radius you find great restaurants for dinner and lunch. It’s the most scenic part of the island - reminds me of Amalfi. The fridge is stocked with local wine and cheese which you are welcome and encouraged to consume. Outside each house has a terrace facing the bay. Comfortable bed Breakfast every day is abundant, with local cheese, honey, bread, jams, local juice, tea and coffee. We were able to ask for some scrambled eggs though, as we don’t eat that many carbs usually.

A renovated old village in the middle of lush nature. A truly enchanting place. Ana is a great host, always ready to share tips and help.

Casas de Incensos is an amazing place. Everything about it met our expectations and beyond. True connection with nature and the surroundings, amazing staff and breakfast. You do need to rent a car to get here but this is part of the charm and beauty of this place. It's secluded and you only have the ocean, the trees and the birds for company (and a family of the sweetest kitties that also made our stay a joy:) We´ll be back!

Its a perfect place to enjoy quite Holidays. We cannot thank Ana and her two colleagues enough for making this stay so beautiful. It starts with a very warm Welcome and personal Introduction to the island, the history of the Houses and lots of recommendations of what to do, where to eat etc. The Houses are very nice decorated, they are of outstanding cleanliness, beds are very comfortable and towels as well as bed sheets smelled so good. The Garden around is fantastic. Each Morning, the Ladies prepare a lovely breakfast that you can enjoy on the terrace looking at the Atlantic ocean. The Pool completes this perfect place to enjoy relaxing Moments. You Need a Car and be prepared to drive 10-15 Minutes to Dinner Locations but this place is totally worth that. In the evening, Drink a Glas of wine on the own Patio, listen to birds and See the Stars.

Once you stayed Here, you don't want to Go Home.

Excellent variety at breakfast. All the staff is lovely and knowlesgable. The snacks and wine were a nice surprise. We loved the history and beautiful restoration. So quiet and relaxing.

They make it a point to make you feel welcome. Left us some snacks and drinks in the mini fridge and also gave access to their kitchen if need be. They cleaned our room each morning. The location is not on a main road, so prepare yourself for off-roading. And if you have luggage, it needs to be carried down a trail path and up the steps into the room. Ana prepared us for the possibility of non-harmful insects since the location is surrounded by nature, which is expected. But they clean each day.

The lighting in the bathroom could be a bit better.
