Loyd Hall Plantation

The history of the property was amazing. Miss Beulah was a gem. Very knowledgeable of the families that owned the place. Many great stories. Fantastic cook. The owners did a fantastic job of furnishing the place to the time period. Ghosts were a little scary when everyone left for the night

Stayed in commissary with my daughter. Had plantation to ourselves so little spooky and did not really feel like we were alone. Definitely want to go back.

No AC. No ice. Pool not clean. Property in total disrepair and decline. No general upkeep being done.

We loved our stay at Lloyd Hall. Everything was beautiful and had that old south charm. Our only hangup was the pool was green, which was kind of a bummer. Other than that no complaints. Ms Buela was the highlight of our stay. We will be back!

The check-in directions were clear and accurate. The swimming pool is the first amenity as you approach but it was dirty and uninviting. Opening the door to our building resulted in an overpowering strong musty odor. I understand that this is a historic property and really like that BUT there are ways to also mitigate the odor. There was no hair dryer as mentioned on the website. The kitchen sink drain was covered with garbage and the carpet was dirty throughout. Miss Buelah the Innkeeper was pleasant and informative. We wanted to support a local B&B but were forced to go to a beautiful hotel in nearby Alexandria for the same price.

Near to the interstate and easy to find. Checking in after hours was easy, they leave an envelope with the key in a box next to the office door. Being from the city, I was skeptical of this practice but it was totally fine! We stayed in the Commissary, which is one of two original side buildings. The inside was all modern and nicely done. We brought our dog and she enjoyed walking all around the grounds like it was her house! Even at midnight while letting the dog out in the dark I felt completely safe. The homecooked breakfast each morning was delicious! The tour of the house was informative and interesting. I love antique furniture and was not disappointed! Everything was so detailed and beautiful. And, having family members with mobility issues, it was refreshing to see they have installed a lift to access the 1st floor of the main house, which is where the breakfast is served, so everyone can be included. There is also a cottage with a ramp. It was nice to see. If ever in the area again we would definitely stay again. It would be a good jumping off location for a trip to Alexandria without staying in the city!

The staff went above and beyond. This was our 2nd time and it was more amazing than the first time. We will come back every time we come through!

The property was Beautiful & we were very comfortable there. The Breakfast was Great and Miss Beaula was a Delight!! She cooked & served a delicious breakfast for us & then gave us a very interesting tour of the house. We really enjoyed our stay there & will return!!
