Lemons & Sun Apartment

This apartment is in a great location. You can walk to Amalfi, Atrani and Ravello as long as you are reasonably fit as it’s pretty hilly! Pontone is lovely and has a couple of good restaurants and a cafe/bar (blu bar) which has a small shop. There’s a good sized supermarket a 10-15 min walk away (Despar) which has everything you need. The apartment was perfect for our needs. Family of 4 with 2 older kids. There was a well equipped kitchen with a coffee machine and lots of pods were provided. Air con throughout. The outdoor area is amazing. A large private terrace surrounded by lemon trees and beautiful views. The swimming pool was a great addition to cool off from the heat. Our hosts, Sergio and Francesco were extremely helpful and responsive. They answered all questions about the local area and even arranged for a private taxi for us to visit Pompeii at a good price. The apartment is very quiet and peaceful making it a perfect place to relax after a busy day sightseeing. We would definitely visit again.

Schöne Lage in einem kleinen Bergdörfchen. Die Terrasse lädt zum verweilen ein inmitten von Zitronen und Orangenbäumen. Ruhige Lage, der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hat alles super geklappt und war alles so, wie wir es erwartet haben. Um zur Wohnung zu kommen, muss man einige Stufen nach oben gehen, ist mit dem Gepäck je nachdem etwas anstrengender.

Beautiful location amongst lemon trees and lovely surroundings. Beautiful views. Quaint village. Bus stop was very near, it takes you to Amalfi. Sergio communicated well throughout our stay.

The host was not that professional, walked off with my backpack. No kettle in the apartment. The lights suddenly switched on in the middle of the night and I couldn’t turn them off, later on found out it was something to do with security but it disrupted our sleep. No extra covers which were needed on the first night as it was very cold. The swimming pool was not clean and we couldn’t use it. We could have done with more towels and toilet rolls.

A quiet place where you can relax after exploring the coast.

The accommodation was comfortable, great beds and bedding and also really nice to have 2 separate smart TV’s and 2 separate aircons in the different rooms to be able to cater for varying requirements :-) The outside is rustic but nice, lovely lemon trees, nice pool to cool down in and a good area to lounge about and soak up the sun and enjoy the views and sounds of the birds and cicadas.

The road to amalfi in the valley below was a bit loud at times I thought. This might have been the time of year as we were there at the height of the season. The outside area around the pool could do with an update, but this is on the cards in the next few years we understood from the owner.

The property was nice, spacious, clean. It had heating. The outside space was all for us, but unfortunately we couldn’t make use of it because of the weather. The host were friendly and helpful when we asked questions. He met us and handed the key to us. Bottles of water and a bottle of juice was on the fridge for us. Small snacks and coffee were available for breakfast too.

The location is not so convenient. Its just a 10 minute bus journey which is perfect, but buses are a bit difficult to get.

Wouldn’t recommend for someone unable to climb stairs

This house is located in Pontone, a very small village next to Scala. Because of this, there are almost no other tourists. The locals are nice and the location is nice and quiet. The house is quite spacious and the outside is also quite big.

There are multiple things that disappointed us. To start, there was a pool and we got quite excited about that. But when we arrived we discovered that the pool was gross and the bottom was full of algae. We tried to clean it but it did not help, this is quite the disappointment when you book a pricey house with a pool. The house itself was also not really clean. The floor was dusty and cabinets had spiderwebs on them. The cups in the cabinets were dirty. At first the shower was great, but after one day the water did not drain away and the water in the shower rised really fast and we had to wait in order to flood the water. It is to bad that a house on such a nice location has so many disappointments. Hopefully this will improve in the future because there is a lot of potential.
