Breakfast Buffet could use a little help

Pool was nice.

My partner and I checked it Saturday night, as soon as we walked in the room there was a weird smell, let the door open for a min and it seemed to help. Well the bathroom floor was dirty black water marks everywhere you can clearly tell it was not mopped or cleaned. After 2-3 hours we get a text saying how everything was from someone at the front desk and we let them know the bathroom floor is dirty and gross. Get a text back saying there sending housekeeping. We stayed up untill 12-1 am and nothing. As we were going to use the sofa coach we found a slice of cheese yes cheese as soon as we moved the sofa pillow. The next morning we get another text checking in and I let them know house keeping never came and how we found the cheese behind the sofa pillow & I ask if we can have house keeping come and they assure they will. We leave the hotel and come back that afternoon to see that house keeping did come only to put more towels in the bathroom and make the bed. Both the concerns not taking care of. We don’t care to have extra towels or bed made. We just wanted the bathroom cleaned and maybe a good vacuum . It was frustrating paying so much for this

The Del Mar Double Tree for attending the Del Mar Fait and celebrating Father’s Day. Service was excellent especially from VITALIA in the restaurant. She made me a “mocha” that’s not on your menu and accommodated my 98 years young father during our stay. The other lady working (didn’t catch her name) personally made my father a bowl of oatmeal as the pot was empty and closing in 30 min. She went back and made him a nice hot fresh bowl of oatmeal. He needs to take his medicine with something smooth. He loved the breakfast buffet and the ADA Shower. We’ve stayed here in the past and will come back again. Thank you to the staff for making our stay a home from home. With much appreciation for your hospitality and kindness.

Room size was decent.

Broken door handles, heavy bathroom door difficult to close, poor parking options.

Everything was wonderful.

Parking was a little sparce but that's a good thing. Tells you it's a good place to stay.

Breakfast was good.

I'm disappointed with the room. The floor was not vacuumed, sticky syrup on desk, cookie crumbs on chair, and the toilet was not cleaned. Toilet seat had stains on it and rings around bottom of toilet. Bathroom floor was not swept. I found a fake nail on bathroom floor. I'm disappointed with this hotel. I've stayed at Hilton before and it's not this dirty. Double Tree needs to revamp their housekeeping system and make the rooms clean for their guests. This does not live up to Hilton's reputation of being a five star hotel. This is not acceptable under any circumstances. I asked front desk to move me to another room but the response was they’re all sold out for the night. I asked staff to come clean the toilet seat but the response was that house keeping went home at 6 PM. The manager should have come clean the toilet. All they did was brought me two rags and gloves to clean the toilet. I shouldn’t have to clean the toilet myself. What a disappointment.
