Cool, modern and trendy. The self-serve drink area is a cool idea.

The price is a bit high for the location, being 20+ drive to downtown

We stayed at the studio Allston for a mother daughter trip, and loved it. The rooms were great, the vibe is fresh, fun - and the concierge had everything we could hope for, including a list of recommendations for gluten free restaurants! Kudos to Joani for putting together a great list - we tried four different restaurants during our visit, and each was good.

Loved Studio Allston's boutique feel. We had fun using the amenities such as the painting on canvas, the pool table, ping pong, and around the clock complimentary coffee and tea station. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hotel seems to be located in a very safe area.

Some of the amenities are badly in need of replacing, such as the ping pong paddles and the felt of the pool table. Certain areas of the hotel needed a bit better cleaning, and rooms in the back tower felt very dark and closed in and face a construction site-- a completely different feel to the rest of the hotel.

Great location and great vibe. All staff appeared to be working very hard to make sure the place was kept up, yet also had a very cool and chill attitude. This was matched by most of the guests we encountered, who seemed very chill and were visibly enjoying their stay. Public areas were inviting and the exterior courtyard was delightful. Breakfast options, while limited on the proteins, were fresh, tasty, and well organized. The area felt safe to walk to even with the kids in tow after 10 PM.

The sound insulation between the rooms could be improved, although understandably that's a difficult task in an existing building.
