Merton Hotel

Very impressed with the hotel, high standard with character. and excellent facilities. Great nightly entertainment. Staff in are areas were outstanding, customer service, polite and happy in their work. Couldn’t do enough for you.

Comfortable room, exceptionally clean but warm even with the fan. My room was looking over road and the window only opening slightly.

Staff were always extremely happy and welcoming. Free parking across the road opposite the hotel, although car park is large, can become packed. Good hot and cold options at breakfast. Several restaurants within the hotel. Good size double room. Spotlessly clean in restaurants and room. Within 10 minutes walk to convenience stores, 30 minutes walk into St. Helier. Housekeeping was amazing, the bathroom was topped up with supplies every day and the bed was remade.

Main issue for a hotel of this size is the LACK OF AIR CONDITIONING! We had a fan in the room and could open the windows, but we were not alone complaining about the heat, particularly in sleeping areas, not so bad in the restaurants. Whilst it can be seen as a plus, we felt the speed at clearing away our plates was too swift; three times my plate and cutlery was taken away from me whilst I still had my last mouthful in my mouth. Which made me question if this was to stop you going back to the buffet style layout and getting more, which I did want to do on one occasion when I opted for the roast pork and was only give two thin slices; paying £40 per head wasnt value for money on that occasion. By contrast, when we dined at their Italian restaurant and we ordered from the menu, we and the table next to us had trouble flagging down a waitress when we wanted to pay the bill. There was an embarrassing dispute over the pricing of drinks; We were there during the Fifa World cup, they show a sign on the bar stating pints are only £5 at half-time, I accept this may be only on selected drinks, the list of drinks were not shown, but I ordered a drink I got for £5 during a previous game, this time I was charged full price. We made sure that was our last paid for drink in the hotel, we went elsewhere after that quite disgruntled. During our stay, the hotel allowed two large groups in, one was from a school, and another seemed to be from a ever growing number of members from a rugby team. The noise became quite unpleasant, the rugby team set about grabbing any spare chairs away from other tables, stopping anyone else from being able to sit there. In my opinion, the rugby team should of had their own room or not allowed in at all, I spotted another guest looking over at the noise with concern.

Bien situé, confortable, personnel sympathique.

La piscine n' est pas ouverte assez souvent après 18h! Dommage, nous n'avons pas pu en profiter !
