Delta Hotels by Marriott Utica

This hotel does not reflect Marriott quality. We had two rooms for 3 nights. The rooms were shabby with torn curtains, broken glass window, wooden trim missing from furniture, dirty/stained carpet, ripped wallpaper, etc. Need I go on? YES. The bathroom was so small the door had to be closed to get into the tub/shower. The vanity had globs of toothpaste on its front from prior guests. We selected the hotel based on this online information: "What is the Delta brand for Marriott? Delta Hotels by Marriott is a four-star brand of hotels and resorts located primarily in North America." It is not four-star by any definition. One room was referred to as a corner room. Sounds nice right? Not. It had one reduced size window looking out on a rooftop with discarded mechanical equipment. The uncomfortable lobby/bar/dining furniture and bright lights did not encourage one to linger for a drink or meal. If we had not had a very full schedule for a social event we would have moved to other accommodations.

Clean

The room was good sized and the bed was comfortable. The hotel's staff was outstanding. I was able to extend my room stay so that my friend who was snowed in did not end up in the cold. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, making arrangements without any issue. The cleaning staff was very good too, as they quickly responded to as concern my colleague had regarding a stain on the bathroom door.

All things considered, I felt that the Booking.com price was high. My original two-night stay in downtown Utica was roughly $500. Given when I booked, I thought I'd be able to get a better price. I also found the cost for snacks to be exorbitant. I bought a small container of cranberry juice and two cookies and it cost me $5.25! I should have stocked up at Dollar Tree, Dollar General, or Family Dollar before heading to Utica!

Love the warm pool plus this is a great place to stay for the New Years Eve celebration.

The food in the restaurant was delicious with the exception of the Greek salad. It hardly had any feta cheese on it and that's what makes the salad. Otherwise it was good. Server was excellent.

Cleaning staff very slow. It was almost 3pm before they got to our room. By then, we were back in our room to get ready to go for dinner, rest and change. Would have been nice to have a small table and chairs in the room also. No bath mat in the tub and felt it was a little unsafe.
