Extremely Disappointed: Unresolved Maintenance Issue & Inadequate Compensation I recently stayed at the Delta Hotels Utica (200 Genesee St, Utica, NY 13502) in November 2025, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Upon checking into my room, I discovered that the bathtub faucet was leaking nonstop, creating a loud "drip, drip, drip" sound that made it nearly impossible to sleep. I immediately notified the front desk, and a maintenance worker came to the room. He confirmed the leak but explained that he could not fix it and would notify the front desk. While the hotel offered me a room change, I had already unpacked after a long day of travel, so moving would have been more inconvenient than tolerating the noise. The next morning, I expected some reasonable compensation for having to endure the constant dripping throughout the night. The front desk assured me they would credit my account, but the only compensation I received initially was a mere 25 air miles — a gesture that felt almost insulting given the significant inconvenience I had endured. They promised an additional $25 credit, but even after following up, I never received it. This lack of follow-through and failure to address the issue properly is simply unacceptable, especially for a Marriott property. For a brand that prides itself on service and guest satisfaction, this experience fell far below expectations. I will seriously reconsider staying at this location again. — Russell Wilmarth

Booked a two-night stay at this hotel for Thanksgiving. My wife and I have made a little tradition of staying at a hotel with our two 7-year-old daughters the day before Thanksgiving. We thought we would give this hotel a try since it's close to our family. This was a bad choice. The hotel just felt dirty, and the staff was generally unfriendly, and not very helpful. They only included the continental breakfast for my wife and I and wanted us to pay for the kids. We're pretty sure we saw a mouse scurrying down the 2nd floor hallway, where the guest laundry room was. The only dryer in the guest laundry; out of service. The TV can't connect to Netflix like they do at other Marriott properties, and didn't have the basic NBC & ABC, channels so we could watch the Thanksgiving parade. One of the chairs in the room was busted, the bathroom was tiny for a suite. The woman that checked us in was very friendly, but the next morning the woman on duty was rude and was more interested in sitting in the lobby on her phone than taking care of the customers. The noise from outside the hotel is terrible. The stairways at the end of the hallways are open air, and it's next to a hospital and police station... so constant sirens all night.

The staff were pleasant. Room was nice

The Resturant food was not good at all. Chicken tenders way overcooked and you could tell grease was old. Wing sauce was watered down. Spinach dip runny no flavor. Breakfast you have to pay for. $17.95 a person. That food was ok but not great for the price.

A group of adolescent hockey team players were running rampant with their sticks, and playing in the halls

Pool, room, lobby all very clean. The breakfast was amazing, great selection.

Waitress staff wasn’t the nicest. Sat down to fix my shoe they asked me to find somewhere else to sit if I wasn’t a customer. There was no lie or even anyone looking for a table.
