L’ambiance, le personnel aux petits soins, la chambre très confortable, le parfum incroyable dans les couloirs!

Rien mais si je dois être picky je dirais le petit déjeuner, la carte est un peu confusing et le buffet pas à la hauteur des autres hôtels avec clés Michelin (nous avons payé 75 pounds à deux)

No walk in shower

My very first trip to Edinburgh - and as one of my key priorities was to ensure I stay at a top notch, renowned hotel, I chose The Balmoral. Stayed for a total of 2 nights & 3 days during Easter break. The weather in Edinburgh was... memorable. Full gusts of wind, strong pelts of rain, followed by hail - and a little dose of sun in-between. So my haven during my few days there was definitely The Balmoral hotel! Located directly adjacent to the Edinburgh Waverley station - literally walked only a few steps through the bustling crowed into the hotel. Was greeted by super friendly staff - from the Scottish attired (very well-dressed!) gentleman by the front gate to the front desk staff. And I thought I had met my share of friendly people in the UK - but the staff at The Balmoral took it to another level! I had booked the Executive Room - and was ecstatic to be upgraded to the 6th floor to an Executive room with a great view of the castle! Was a plush room, refurbished yet with distinct traditional decor which suited my taste. It was so cold outside and I swear I was in a permanent state of frozen-ness during my stay there - but the heat and warmth of the room was what made my stay there a blissful heaven. After a full day of walking in the cold and rain, I had to crash in the evening to order room service. Food and service was excellent as well. Overall - a definitely exquisite and comforting experience at The Balmoral. Location of the hotel is fantastic - direct access to all the major sightseeing places, only a few minutes away from the Princes Street Garden; all other sightseeing places were only 15~20 minutes away by foot. Equally great access to the Airlink 100 bus straight to the airport. Would definitely choose to stay here again if I ever have a chance to visit Edinburgh again (in warmer weather of course!).

Everything feels right about The Balmoral. The warm welcome when we arrived; the efficient team on the reception desk; the Concierge who sorted out our tickets to visit the castle; the warm touches in our room, such as our delicious Easter egg. The spa area is excellent, with a decent sized pool and gym, and the location is just a few minutes walk from the Royal Mile. We’ll definitely return.

We called in the hotel's bar twice as non residents to enjoy a light meal and drinks. Excellent environment with first class staff. Very relaxing and a tonic for the soul and mind on a very wet and windy day!

What sets the Balmoral apart is its sense of place. You’re not just staying in a luxury hotel—you’re immersed in a piece of Scottish history, right in the center of it all. It’s an ideal choice for anyone seeking a stay that is both culturally rich, exceptionally comfortable and conveniently located.
