Red Roof Inn Akron

We arrived around 930pm and the lobby was full of people waiting for their rooms. Housekeeping is cleaning rooms for people and their 3pm check ins. Apparently it’s been hours per the other people in the lobby.

The room was clean for the most part except for one of the mirrors which was covered in some unknown fluid and there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. I couldn’t afford a hotel in Cleveland as we were in town for the solar eclipse totality. The previous room tenants had disconnected the smoke detector and took the batteries.

The room next to the one i got assigned to has at least 3 cats in it. I saw them in the window and the cat pee smell is overpowering. Its hard to breathe...its so bad in the room i got and there is no tv which was listed as one of the amenities. I've had positive experiences in this hotel before but this is the worst.

The bathroom walls leaked in three spots. It was wet on the bathroom floor, water was on the carpet between the beds. Toilet had to be flushed three times it still wouldnt go down. The light over the sink wouldnt light. There was a bag over smoke alarm. The yard was coverd in feces as well as the rocks. No bag stations.

Really run down property, in side and out. Workmen and maids who clearly are not professionals. There was a ladder on the third floor walkway ( where my second room was) Saturday evening when I returned to my room, still there Sunday morning when I left, with lightbulbs loose on the floor at its base. First room was not clean, two hours later I was given another room that was barely acceptable in cleanliness, and the TV did not work. The desk staff was lovely, but I will never stay there again, it was awful.

Rooms could of been cleaner. There was fight outside that woke me up.

Pictures online must be from when the place was new. It was dirty, moldy , holes, the wall water damage to the ceiling, and it was moldy and peeling away very dirty curtains, smell, dirty

I didn’t get to check in until 540 instead of 300

On the way up to our room we noticed trash everywhere. Not to mention the shopping carts on the second floor where our room was. As we were about to get into our room, my son noticed that the room next to us had a broken window. It was at that point we felt unsafe. As we were leaving we noticed police officers in the parking lot adjacent to the hotel, with light on. We did not feel safe.

It wasn't bad. But the toilet didn't want to flush and the bathroom door handle was way loose.
