Everything else. Non-working wi-fi extremely noisy guests no help from the front desk just generally an overall bad stay would never recommend or stay there again.

I recently stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Johnson City, Tennessee while visiting East Tennessee State University with my daughter. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When I checked in late that evening, I asked if a first-floor room was available. The front desk initially tried to charge me extra for it, but then said she would give me a “free upgrade.” I appreciated the gesture at the time, but once we got to the room it was clear the room had not been properly cleaned. The bathroom was not clean and there was visible hair stuck to the bathtub wall. Because it was late and we had been traveling, I chose not to come back down to the front desk to complain at that time. Later, when I pulled back the covers to go to bed, I noticed cookie chunks and crumbs and a bunch of colorful rubber bands underneath the cover on the sheet. The bed had clearly been made, but there was debris still on the mattress right on the sheet, which made it obvious the bedding had not been fully changed or the mattress cleaned before the room was prepared. Because of this, my daughter and I ended up only using one bed. We were out most of the next day visiting the campus, and I understand that daily room service is limited, so that part was not the issue. My concern is simply that the room was not clean upon arrival. I did mention this to the front desk when I checked out, but I did not request a refund at the time since we had already stayed the night. Looking back, I do feel that the condition of the room was unacceptable, especially for a paying guest who had just arrived after a long trip. I hope management reviews the cleaning procedures for rooms before check-in so future guests don’t have the same experience.
