Guests highly rate the kind front desk staff and frequently praise the quick and easy service.
The staff was friendly. The room was gross, had ants crawling on the bed when we arrived. Area around the property felt a bit unsafe due to loitering.
As expected for a Red Roof

This place is actually disgusting and unsafe. The first room we were in, the door lock was coming off the screws (unfortunately didn’t take photos) so we asked for a different room and the second room didn’t even have a door lock. The front desk didn’t seem to care and we were stuck with that one. There were dead roaches in the corners of the room and overall a gross musty smell through the whole place. If we hadn’t been traveling from 3am-9pm we would’ve just gone elsewhere.
The blankets and sheets on the bed Had stains on them. They didn't have anything in the room to take a shower with the location was bad and I felt uncomfortable
I called early to ask for a ground floor room and was told I couldn't get one. Upon arrival, the nice young lady was able to get me a ground floor room. However, after I checked in, she came out to my car and said that that room had not been made up yet and gave me a different room. The room did not have a trash can, a coffee pot, nor a remote control. I would have expected at least those things.
I am moving to Chicago for a new job, and stopped over my first night for travel. The front desk agent was wonderful, and I worry for her in this environment. When I was assigned my room, I pulled up to find three men standing in front of my door. I felt watched, and uncomfortable. I pulled away, didn’t even go into the room, and found another hotel. When I reached out, the hotel denied a refund saying that “it was normal for neighbors to be near your door.” “Near” and “directly in front of” are very different things. As a single woman, there is nothing about approaching a hotel door with three men in front of it in the evening that appeals to me. This is not a hotel, but an extended stay, and there is definitely a community there, for better or worse. I’d recommend being wary of your environment, and avoiding a hotel that refuses to take care of vulnerable folks visiting.
