Marine Hotel Paignton

Lovely stay very comfortable and clean room overlooking the park. Decor could do with updating in places.

Excellent check in we felt we were valued customers even though it was only for one night. Staff around the hotel very helpful, polite and welcoming. Pleased we could sit in the comfortable conservatory bar after a long drive which had a lovely view of the Paignton sea front

Excellent location, staff were really nice, entertainment was great my kids loved it. Very noisy as you could hear all the guests coming & going all through the night. The breakfast wasn’t worth adding to the booking, it was so bad all four of us left everything. Rooms needed upgrades but it was clean & tidy.

The room was cold, and smelt musty. There was damp in the bathroom. Our room was poorly catered and in need of an upgrade. We were awoken early by the squeaky floorboards from the room above. The menu was very basic, and appeared to be stuck in the 70s! Thought the Christmas decs were fun, but perhaps a bit early!

A little noisy from the room above. Otherwise all was good with friendly staff.

The hotel is average and dated. I could list lots, but I also think it depends on the reason for your stay. I was with a group of ladies attending an event in Paignton, and the hotel was nearby. My main gripe was my shower - small and not that powerful, also the amount of laminated signs irked me. However had a really comfy bed and slept well. Staff made us welcomed, especially those in the dining room (thank you Jack, Harvey & Becks). Its a quirky hotel, full of corridors, not quite with the cool modern facilities, but adequate and good location.

We liked the staff who were very hard working, friendly and kept everything running smoothly. The half board option was extremely good value and everything arrived hot and was well presented and tasty. The room was large and roomy and very quiet, even though it faced the road. Everywhere was accessible from the hotel 10 minutes walk to the ferry for Torquay and Brixham. 10 minutes walk to the bus and train station in the centre of the town. We didnt use our car once and it was free to park at the hotel. We enjoyed our stay so much, we extended it by 2 days. We will definately be back.

Bedroom was clean, tidy and comfy

From the warm welcome at check-in to the friendly assistance throughout my visit, every team member I encountered was courteous and eager to help. They were always on hand with a smile and provided excellent recommendations for local dining and activities.
