Econo Lodge Douglassville - Pottstown

We rented a non-smoking room, and it Reeked of cigarette smoke. We had to wash all of our clothes once we returned home. The paint was peeling off the door and the walls. There were holes in the covers on the bed. We were not pleased with this hotel at all.

Cob webs above curtains...had to hook some up & noticed cob webs...otherwise clean

When I went to check in, there was a sign taped on the counter saying the hotel didn't have water. I had to stop the lady checking me in as she was already proceeding with the check-in without telling me about the condition. She said she would cancel my reservation and refund my money, but I haven't the refund to my card yet.

If you need a cheap place to stay and aren't to picky this works. I spilled water on the floor and when I wiped it up the towel was black. Water pressure went from non existent to okay depending on when other people were showering. It did not have any bugs. The chain lock on the door was broken, there was a hole in the bathroom door. the breakfast consisted of honey buns, milk, orange juice and bagels. I probably would not stay here again.

Super comfy bed. I slept a full night, which never happens at home.

The hotel itself is very basic, no frills. I'm a non smoker, and a few times I would come back from work and my room smelled like cigarette smoke, presumably from an adjacent room.

Check in late was ok, no issues arriving as late as midnight. The room was large and welcoming. The WiFi was unsecured (not even a room # login). The bathroom had a spot of mold on the wall and the refrigerator had ice buildup. I didn't have anything for it, so I used a towel and defrosted it that night. The next day, dried it out, turned it on and it worked great! The front desk staff was nice in answering questions, but didn't give information unless you asked. The cleaning staff didn't understand simple English or how to change sheets or read a sign. The first night, we had the pillow covers changed (ALL 6 of them) since they were flipped over and had grease marks on them. The first day, the "Do Not Disturb" sign was up and the cleaning staff didn't know what it meant, so they both entered the room, made the beds (with a suitcase on it) and refreshed the towels while removing the "Do Not Disturb" sign from the room. When I left the 2nd morning, I asked for a bill and they stated since it was booked through a "3rd party" they did not have access to the cost and could not give me a bill. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you are staying for the night to refresh for a drive the next day and don't mind the smell of smoke in any room (including non-smoking).
