Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links

We have been to this hotel 4 times now ...first time was pre covid and we definitely got the wow factor upon our first visit. Love the location hence keep coming back however our most recent visit our experience was completely disappointing. First off all I have mobility issues and when we arrived the lift to bring us up into reception with our bags was out off order and remained out off order the entire time leaving my husband to carry the bags upto reception while I negotiate the stairs. On our way to room I could clearly see how neglected the hotel is with dirty carpets..chipped door frames...and in need off good clean and paint. Our room was sea view again was very basic with missmatch furniture dirty windows and worn out furniture. I could go on and on about our experience but in a nuttshell some staff were not very friendly and really looked unhappy to be there ...breakfast experience on first morning wasn't great dirty cutlery...tea pot with floaty bits in it had to ask for milk toast etc however our second morning was a nicer experience....we ate in bar and again some staff couldn't be bothered it was very clear to see. We returned back to hotel on our first nite out around 11.15 went to bar for a nitecap to be told by the bar attender they had stopped serving and there was no residents bar we literally just wanted 1 drink before heading to bed we did think this was very poor. This is a 4 star hotel and we definitely would not rate it as a 4 star at this present time which is very sad because I always loved our visit to portmarnock golf links hotel...shout out to brian who was very courteous to us when we were leaving pity he wasn't there when we arrived as he had a few days off and just returned when we were leaving.

Resort needs an outside refurbishment

Absolutely lovely location. Peaceful and quiet. Right at the beach and the golf course. Short walk to Malahide, easy to take the bus as well. Or an Uber. Basic breakfast, so only ate there first morning. Jameson bar is nice and with good food, had dinner there every night. Unfortunately horrible acoustics in the bar/dining area.

Die Lage des Hotels war wirklich wunderschön. Das Personal war super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man konnte sich wirklich sehr wohlfühlen und auch wenn wir nur zwei Tage da waren, war es ein entspannter Urlaub. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und frisch.
