Avon Old Farms Hotel

Expected more value for the price, but it wasn't there. The room was quant, but furnishings were beat up and old. Bathroom amenities were sparse and the mold in the bathtub is no longer able to be scrubbed off. The $22/day extra charge for the use of the lobby amenities was unexpected and had to be accepted/approved upon registering at the desk. Lobby amenities that were not attractive and never used. The breakfast was subpar, only a small step up from a Holiday Inn expectation. The outdoor pool water was wet, this is the nicest compliment that I can share as the chairs were long past renewal. They nicely have firepits established in several areas, the first one we visited was full of garbage and recyclables. The next was lit, but no wood was provided to add to the dwindling embers. I asked at the front desk and was handed a Duraflame log. Thanks! The surroundings in Avon CT had such potential, but the hotel disappointed.

Nice place

Nice location, friendly staff. The rooms could use a facelift, especially the bathrooms. Also the AC unit is behind the drapes so climate control is challenging, and there must be a moisture problem because there was a big noisy dehumidifier floor unit in there.

Always enjoy our stay at this quaint and beautiful hotel! Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! Love the free breakfast, too.

Relaxed stay in a quality hotel. Enjoyed the pool and facilities. Good breakfast (but so much plastic!)

Hotels need to reduce plastic waste. More fruit would be good. NB restaurant does Sunday Brunch but not Sunday evenings.
