Hyatt Place Fort Wayne - Northwest

Breakfast was good and the water got hot.

The staff member at the front desk when we checked in didn’t seem to want to be there. We weren’t told that they were doing reconstruction on the floor above of us prior to checking in. We found out from a sign posted in the elevator. The elevator was old and made a lot of noise. Once we got to our floor, there was a really bad stench and carpet was absolutely filthy. When we entered into our room there was a stench as well. The bed didn’t seem stable and it wasn’t comfortable. Construction was going on right above our room. They started working at 8am in the dot on a Saturday morning.

Very, very disappointed in TV reception. When l mentioned to desk manager, she said everyone complained.

No parking so we had to go across the street to “overflow parking” which appeared to be parking for another business. Minimal room amenities.

I was very disappointed. For the price per night and other comments I read I was looking forward to the stay. However, when we arrive 4th and 5th floor were under renovations. Entire motel was very muggy. Hallways on floors looked lower end and smelled musty. Rooms were small! Bathrooms tiny! Staff was not front desk material. Very uneducated on hotel practices and gave us a key card that we couldn’t get into the room with. Very unimpressed we canceled our stay a night early because we didn’t want to stay. Beds extremely uncomfortable!

Great location. Several convenience stores and a Walmart and a movie theater are within walking distance. The staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. The restrooms were tiny though! You have to squeeze in between the toilet and door to get in to shut the door behind you. That was my only complaint. But I loved that there was a large sitting area but also a protective glass to separate the two spaces. Lots of space to hang your clothes plus a separate coat closet area. There's a small fridge and lock box in every room for your convenience.

The person running the front desk was friendly &professional. He gave us a recommendation for a great restaurant. We also had a beautiful room.

Clean, comfortable and roomy

I would have preferred a juice machine rather than juices/milk sitting out in pitchers and missed a waffle maker too at breakfast.

The hotel was recently renovated and was very nice! The morning staff were extremly friendly and you could tell they enjoyed their job!
