Surf & Sand Laguna Beach

This is my favorite hotel here. I’ve stayed multiple times and cannot imagine any reason to stay somewhere else if you’re in the area. My wife lives the sound of the waves. Christina was our hostess and she was super helpful, especially when we need a local nail place.

Arrived after a long week of Thanksgiving hustle and bustle. The beautiful ocean, room and hotel staff were the best therapy we could have hoped for. From our first welcome with Maxine, Oscar who brought us an amazing congratulations bottle of Prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries and was so personable and professional. Then, Lorenzo in the Splashes bar who was so attentive and friendly. Patrick and Will in the Splashes dining room were terrific servers who provided impeccable service and hospitality. We are beyond words for the amazing hospitality and service.

If I could give this stay 10 stars I would. The upgraded property is beautiful and the views from the oceanfront rooms simply cannot be beat—I can’t think of another property where you are literally having waves crash under your balcony. However, what really sets the Surf and Sand apart is the service. I called asking about the possibility of an early check in because of an event on that evening and Christina at the front desk truly went above and beyond. She was beyond pleasant and accommodating, in fact because of her we decided to stay an extra night. The views here are unbeatable but the staff truly makes it a worthwhile stay.

First time staying here. Beautiful room overlooking the ocean. The service was impeccable and the restaurant Splashes was excellent! Shout out to several team members who made our stay very enjoyable: Ryne at check-in, Will, Alberto & Rigo at Splashes. I highly recommend this place!

I’ve stayed in countless hotels—domestically and internationally—and I’m on the road for work at least four days a week. Five-star service is something I’m familiar with, but what I experienced at the Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach was something entirely different. It wasn’t just luxury or professionalism. It was genuine human kindness at a time I needed it most. I arrived during the holidays while going through a deeply personal challenge, and from the moment I checked in, the entire team made me feel as if I had stepped into the home of people who truly cared. Lisa Lawrence welcomed me with the most beautiful handwritten note, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a bottle of wine—an unexpected gesture that immediately made me feel seen and supported. Diane at the concierge desk gave me a warm, sincere hug and a thoughtful gift when she learned what I was going through. Those small moments meant more than I can express. The service throughout the property was consistently outstanding. Whether I was ordering food from the pool bar, grabbing something from the café, or enjoying every meal at Splashes, the food was exceptional each time. I wish I had collected every name, because every single person I interacted with delivered five-star hospitality. I do remember Josh—who I believe is the lead bartender—because he was fantastic, as were all the other team members behind the bar. The spa deserves its own praise. I had the best massage and facial I’ve ever experienced, and I would return to the resort for the spa alone. My room was immaculate and incredibly comfortable, with a view that almost didn’t seem real. Every detail—from the lighting to the shades to the shower and bathtub—felt thoughtfully designed and truly luxurious. Even the guest services team, housekeeping, and the valet staff contributed to what became one of the most meaningful and comforting hotel stays I’ve ever had. It’s rare to feel genuinely cared for when traveling, and yet that is exactly what the Surf & Sand team provided. This wasn’t just a beautiful resort stay. It was a reminder of how much warmth and compassion exist in the world. I’m deeply grateful to the entire team for turning a challenging time into something peaceful, supportive, and unexpectedly uplifting. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough.

Patrick was very helpful, the perfect amount of humor and lightheartedness while maintaining professionalism. The Thanksgiving dinner was perfect texture and filling! The desert was phenomenal.

We spent 3 nights here in October 2025 with 3 kids to relax after 2 weeks of travelling across the USA. The ocean view is breath taking, the pool area is beautiful and the beach is directly in front of the beach Euch mashed swimming in the ocean really easy. The gym is well equipped and the service was great. Pricing is really steep though across the board (food, rooms, valet. Breakfast for 5 of us was usually 250 USD+

From beginning to end this experience was immaculate. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation and used the valet service to park. The valet spoke with kindness and we were able to walk into the hotel with ease. As we made our way to the host stand they sat us right away—no needing to wait! We were told Patrick would be with us momentarily. We were greeted immediately by Patrick, his calm and friendly demeanor was amazing. He had us trainee with him and he was also kid. We chose our drinks and they were divine. Patrick then shared the chef special and although a T-Bone steak sounded amazing I was eyeing the ribeye. The food was divine, the meat was juicy and tender, cooked to perfection. 10/10 would recommend, made our anniversary night beautiful.
