Pacific Terrace Hotel

This is our third year in a row vacationing in San Diego at the Pacific Terrace. We Absolutely love our stay here not only for the wonderful hotel , but because the staff makes sure your stay is the absolute best. The room service and the food is an absolute Delight !

Pacific Terrace Hotel is the only hotel I go to anymore I'm in La Jolla or San Diego. It's beautiful and start on the ocean. The rooms are also lovely I've been there many times

My husband and I recently took an anniversary trip to the Pacific Terrace Hotel. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back, though I would likely request a different room next time. We booked a partial ocean view room and were placed on the first floor, which I expected and was fine with. However, on Friday night, our view—and the smell—was impacted by the grill being used for the Fire Dance Friday event. While we could still see the fire dancer, the grill was directly in our line of sight and became the main focus. The smoke and food odors were a bit of a nuisance, though only for that one evening. Aside from that, we had a great experience. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but they called us as soon as it was available and even placed our luggage in the room, so we only had to stop by the front desk to pick up our keys. Friday nights view/smell was truly our only complaint. I would absolutely stay here again, but next time I may request a room on a higher floor or consider booking a different room type.

While I enjoyed my stay overall, I would like to suggest better supervision of the pool and hot tub areas. During my visit, several guests were eating and drinking in the pool, which was unpleasant and unhygienic. I also noticed a lady entering the hot tub wearing shorts and a shirt. Having a staff member regularly monitor these areas and ensure that pool and hot tub rules are followed would help maintain cleanliness, safety, and a more enjoyable experience for all guests.

I gotta say these was the nicest hotel staff I’ve encountered in a long time. Each one was nicer then the next. Every request was met with a smile. The whole weekend was excellent. Beds were quite comfortable, the pillows were divine. The cafe staff and bar staff was top notch. What super nice people. I would stay here every day for the rest of my life if I could. Thank you

The location is fun, and very convenient to the beach. The staff is great. We really enjoyed the entertainment - a fire dancer and a steel drum duo and both were terrific!

There is not really a restaurant, just some tables on the patio with food mostly take-out from a restaurant around the corner. The food was mostly greasy burgers and tacos. They prepared breakfast onsite, but everything I tried was swimming in grease. Our room location (partial ocean view?) was right behind the terrace, with all the noise and activity from the terrace cafe right outside our deck. The parking garage is small and difficult to navigate with an SUV.

Staff were extremely friendly and professional. A lot of attention to details - such as equipped kitchenettes, turndown service with chocolates.
