Pacific Terrace Hotel

Very, very pleasant experience with spouse, adult son and his friend. Exceptionally, yet genuinely friendly staff without exception. Very clean, great access to beach and restaurants, hot, well Working jacuzzi with powerful jets, and comfortably heated pool with ample and safe underground parking. We would absolutely return!

Everything about this place was amazing. Service was five star. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. Room was great, food and pool cocktails fantastic, and location could not be better. Would definitely return!

You cannot beat this location. Right on the beach, all the fun bars and restaurants at your fingertips. Unfortunately, the hotel feels dated and the rooms are pretty tired. The amenities aren’t great - we used the bikes and were nervous because the chains were completely rusted. The staff was friendly, and again, there’s not a better location! Just have reasonable expectations for a tired property in a fantastic setting.

I love this hotel. It is perfectly situated next to the ocean with the boardwalk steps outside your door, and sand just a few feet beyond. Pacific Beach (PB) is alive with genuine people surfing, skating, riding bikes or walking their dogs. Oscars Mexican Seafood (home to the first fish tacos) is right around the corner and an absolute must. San Diego zoo was a 20-minute easy drive during 'rush hour' (I use that term loosely - traffic is incredibly light). Petco Park for a Padres game was even closer. La Jolla, where we sea kayaked and saw hundreds of seals at Children's Pool, is just 3 miles away. As for the hotel itself, it was absolutely amazing. Our room overlooked the Pacific Ocean and the view was breathtaking. Every night we cracked the sliding glass door and listened to the sound of the ocean while we slept. The heated pool was actually heated and felt amazing, and it was fun to hop back and forth from the pool to the hot tub. Pina Coladas on the deck (both virgin and fully loaded) were delicious and decadent. The best part of the hotel was the staff. Every single person from the front desk to the maids to wait staff were incredibly friendly and kind. We enjoyed our stay so much we hoped that we would miss our flight back home so we could stay another night. I almost didn't write this review because I wanted to keep this place a secret, but I think the word is out. The Pacific Terrace Hotel is the best spot in San Diego.

This is literally the "perfect" hotel on all levels. You cannot beat the location - beautiful views and right on the pedestrian path overlooking the beach. TONS of authentic, local places to eat and drink. The rooms are immaculately cleaned; comfy mattresses and linens. Despite all those accolades, the best part is the staff. EVERYONE was so authentically friendly.

The staff was super welcoming and helpful and always smiling!

Location location!!!!! It had a true California vibe!
