Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows

Not much, it was on the beach which was nice and had nice views but there are many other hotels on the beach too.

This is an old, smelly, dirty hotel. We had to keep the window open as we were not able to breathe in the room. It smelled of mould and dog wee. There was mould in the bathroom. The carpet was dirty and smelled really bad. We were on the top floor and the wind was whistling so much that we were not able sleep. I’m not sure if this kind of accommodation is the standard in USA but this hotel is way below European standard. So if you come from Europe please avoid as you will be greatly disappointed. The restaurant is overpriced- we paid $24 for 6 prawns! Restaurant staff is not very nice or polite either. They spilled the drinks and didn’t even apologise or wipe it. There are plenty of nice places in Whalers Village (15-20mins walk). We spent the day there as couldn’t bear spending another minute in this nightmare hotel. We booked a room with breakfast included, yet we were told we had to pay $5 extra per person per breakfast to get the buffet breakfast. The buffet breakfast is not great, below standard. Not many choices, very cheap stuff. We regret not paying a bit more and staying in Marriott or somewhere decent.

Tremendous value for the money. Only wish the hotel offered a broader variety of food in Lahaina Noon restaurant. Staff was great, the food was delicious and the hotel is located on the best part of Ka’anapali beach.

First and foremost the Royal Lahaina staff is PERFECTION! Everyone was always positive. Positive is an umbrella and every word you can think of to go under it describes the staff. Our partial ocean view room was a compete combo of RL garden view, ocean view, and rainbow view! Our shower had worse water pressure than a dollar store spray bottle but after I mentioned it, it was positively fixed! The bathroom door was a solid wood pocket door that didn't lock (b/c the lock didn't match the door frame.) I smashed my index finger b/c it was so heavy it got away from me. (Thank you New Skin for keeping it sealed.) The flat top lights in the outdoor restaurant are a bad interior designer choice. Birds. ...birds... The food menus should be in the room with the magazines. Being from Oregon, we love that the cans/bottles have the 5cent return and they are collected!! Best for last; Our first night dinner, Kara was our waitress. She made our hearts smile and filled us with her positive. Kara will forever be remembered as an important part of our family's once in a lifetime vacation!

They really try to make you feel welcome. Room and shower were great. Great views. Fun sounds from nightly luau. Great beach and pool bar. Restaurant needed better service but the food was pretty good. It’s located near restaurants and shops you can walk to easily.

The hotel has a good location. Our room was spacious and comfortable. House keeping was every other day, and we run out of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner during our stay. Parking gets challenging in the afternoons due to daily luau starting at 5pm. The beach was great, and the grounds were well kept.

Everything was amazing. People were professional and courteous. Food was amazing. Very clean. Definitely going to book here again
