eL Hotel Yogyakarta Malioboro

Central location, close to lots of food options and shopping.

- Location - Nice room - Friendly staff

- AirPort Shuttle service not available (reception said full) - Food was not hot / low temperature, even cold - Restaurant staff English was very poor and therefore making mistakes. They did not confirm orders.

Only our Neighbours kids running in and out of the room. Making noise at 10pm

Location is superb! Just few steps walk away from Jl Malioboro Street & to all the facilities & amenities. There are lots of nearby food shops, food carts, souvenir shops, shopping malls, entertainment activities. The Staff behavior was good, supportive & helpful. I liked the lobby area though it was small but nicely kept, decorated & clean. The breakfast food varieties was somewhat Okay The hotel is clean, lobby areas, lift, corridor & the rooms. The restaurant food prices are quite reasonable & tasty. We had dinner two times at the hotel & food taste was good. Adequate parking facilities.

I felt the price is little higher compared to the facilities. The breakfast food varieties can be reviewed to change, may be different days can offer different cuisine or at least 2 or 3 times a week. Day 3 of my staying, at the breakfast time, I wanted to have omelette with onion but the cooking staff said, they don't have onion. I was so surprised to know, how come a 4* hotel doesn't keep onion in their stock. We tried Fish & Chips two times, first time the fish was fresh but the second time the fish was not fresh, felt bad smell. We didn't like the inside swimming pool, it looks small compared to other 4* hotels. The room space was not comfortable as we literally didn't have enough space to move around the room, so I suggest not to take Superior size room, not good space for couple.

The breakfast selection was a lot so for the past 4 days we were greeted with variety of choices. Also, the lobby and the entrance has roof so regardless even when it’s raining it’s not a problem. The shower is great because after a long day of travelling you need a good fulfilling shower. The bed and room is big too for a couple like us so that’s definitely its plus point. Location is at the center of Malioboro so you can just walk in less than 1 minute to do some shopping.

Unfortunately during our stay, there was a whole group of anak-anak SD and with the door not being soundproof we were able to hear the loud noise and shouts at night and early morning at the room next door and even at the corridor. :( The toilet has a bit of smell which i think came from the piping system but it’s not a huge issue as the smell come and go from time to time
