Nothing. All perfect.

It is a beautiful homestay close to Ella, in the village of Heel-Oya. The room and bathroom were clean and offered everything we needed. There is a cute balcony with a beautiful view. The host is probably the friendliest person we met on our whole trip through the country! Since the house is outside Ella and the Tuktuks are expensive during night time, he even picked us up with his private car. The hike up Ella Rock is nice and much easier from this side than from Ella itself. We also enjoyed the homecooked dinner! Since we had to leave early in the morning, we got a breakfast package for the way and were dropped of at the train station. All in all we had a wonderful time and felt very welcomed!

Nothing negative, but still something to consider: The homestay is not located centrally in Ella town. There is a train 2 times a day or one depends on TukTuk. The TukTuk prices raise during night time.

Everything. We loved it! Thank you so much Devaka! Had the best time in Ella. It was clean, comfortable and Devaka is the best host. The food was also delicious. Devaka gave us tipps for the way to Ella rock, brought some fruits and ayurvedic medicine, because one of us was a bit sick. We were so glad to choose this homestay. 10/10, if you are in Ella and love nature, then stay with Devaka!

The attentiveness of the owner, he was very helpful and made delicious food. We loved the location, it was quite far out of Ella but recomendable for nature lovers and those who are looking for a peaceful local experience. There is a train station 5 minutes away and a alternative access route to Ella Rock away from the crowds.

Great location as it is only 500m from the train station which is 2 stops from Ella. Beautiful view over the garden and hills beyond. Very quiet. No traffic noise. The room was spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water for the shower. Delicious home cooking. But above all else our host and his family made us feel so welcome. Our host helped us plan a fantastic few days. He is completely fluent in English which made all the arrangements go so smoothly.

We had best stay in Ella breeze. Location is good away from the town surrounded by nature. Host will help us with transport arrangements.Clean property with good facilities. We had best breakfast during our stay. Best host and amazing family.

This place is just magical! Devaka is a very friendly and caring host, he helps you planning your days in Ella perfectly according to your needs, he is always up for a laugh and the talks with him about Sri Lanka and about life are very interesting. The room is superclean (!), beautiful and very well maintained. Hot water and water pressure are great, there is a new mosquito net (which we didn‘t need at all) and also a fridge and a hot water kettle in the room. There‘s a lot of places to hang things and the view from the balcony into the garden, the rice fields and the railway is breathtaking. You’ll definitley love their breakfast (the best ones we had so far) and it is absolutely worth to have dinner there as well. The food is soo delicious! We couldn‘t get enough of it. Thank you so much.

We had an amazing stay at Devaka's place. A perfect spot for all nature lovers and hikers. Great people, delicious food, a spotless room and pristine nature all around. If you want to experience real Srilankan hospitality, this is a place to stay.
