The room was clean. The room above us was very loud with children running for hours. It was 100 degrees out and we wanted to swim. At checkin, we seen the sign the pool was out of service. I was NOT happy. We arrived 20 min early and was told we could not check in and must come back. It was not a great experience and would not pay what we did for a room that was loud and no pool for my 2 year old grandson.

First room we had smelled like smoke, but the person at the front desk switched us to a new room right away. The pool is unavailable and the breakfast was sub par compared to other Fairfield’s I have stayed at.

Extremely poor customer service by Cheryl at the front desk, Horrible, horrible attitude! She Continuously rolled her eyes at us when checking us in because she had difficulty with check in. They advertise having a pool, but there was no using it. They advertise room darkening curtains, but there were none. They advertise a snack area where purchases can be made, but it was dirty and dusty, and only had approximately six items you could choose. The freezer in our refrigerator was frosted up and we could not use it. Our room keys stopped working midway through our visit. We wanted to relax and watch a good movie, but only three channels came in on the TV. Fairfield Inn was a joke!! We could not wait to run out of there. We left at 6:45 AM on our checkout day.

I thought something was funky when I was asked whether we watch TV when we checked in. Then in the room, the TV only worked on a couple stations, there was no offer to change rooms or to have a reduction in the bill. The outlets at the desk were non-functional and a couple light bulbs were burned out. The hotel seemed "tired" and in need of some sprucing up.

I booked a room at the Fairfield Inn, Racine, WI for myself, my husband, and my sister for 8/1/25 to attend a family funeral. Since we have always found the Fairfield's to be clean, nice moderate hotels, I recommended the location to three of my cousins. Consequently, I felt embarrassed when we arrived. Fortunately, one of my cousins did NOT book ahead, so when he arrived with his wife he went into the lobby and told me he said, "No way," and they found other accommodations. However, TWO of my cousins booked, arrived late, and stayed in spite of the hotel's condition. I am attaching photos to document health and safety and maintenance issues. HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES: One photo is of a rug in the entry that is so curled up I tripped on it. Three photos are of air conditioner screens in room 301. My cousin, who is in her 70's, has severe allergies, had been placed in room 207. The smell was so horrible, along with other issues, they asked for another room. The smell was somewhat better, but she checked the air filtration screens. As you can see, they were FILTHY! It was late and they had prepaid, so she cleaned them. You can clearly see the difference between the screens after she cleaned them. Fortunately, she did not become ill. POOR MAINTENANCE CONCERNS: 1. Carpet in 207 was dirty. 2. 207 Plug-ins on table light did not work. 3. Room 207's air conditioner was not working at all and the room smelled horrible. 4. Room 301 and our room had a cracked sink (see photo). Cousin reported her sink also had a chip. 5. As stated above filters for air/heat were totally plugged. Pictures are attached. 6. Cousin reported trying to microwave her chicken sausage, but the holder under the glass plate did not rotate, so her sausage burned. 7. I am attaching photos of the tub. You can see that an attempt was made with some type of silicone to repair. While the tub MAY have been clean the overall look of the tub was dirty because of that "repair." 8. The cabinet that contained the refrigerator had part of the "face" peeled off making it appear very shabby. 9. The photos of the toilet paper rolls show that after our initial use, one was empty and the other almost empty. My sister asked the desk for more, but they did not know where to look. Housekeeping did bring some up within and hour, but one wonders why so little was supplied initially. The hotel was comparable in price to other Fairfield Inn's or Springhill Suites. In fact, my husband and I spent the night in the Springhill Suites, Coralville, Iowa on Sunday, August 3, 2025 under his Marriott account. The Springhill was a palace compared to the Fairfield Inn, Racine! I understand it is difficult to update and maintain a property and can make some allowance that there will be variances in quality. That said, the Fairfield Inn, Racine, should NOT be a Marriott property. The general condition of the hotel is run down and shabby, there is a lack of general daily maintenance, and small repairs or replacement items such as a new entry rug appeared to be completely ignored. A person who fell and had an injury due to the entry rug or who had a severe allergic reaction because of the filthy air filters could sue the hotel/Marriott.

Bathroom had mold in the tub, pool was closed again which is why I picked that place, breakfast was gross and not much of a variety and trash outside was always full and never emptied. It was a less then avg hotel for being a marriott I would have thought it would be better

When I go to a hotel, I expect it to be a welcoming environment. Well, walking up to the door we noticed the grass was way overgrown, and the doors were filthy. We did not even want to touch the handles. And a sign on the door stating the weight room and pool, are temporarily shut down. That in itself wanted me to ask for a refund. Upon entering our room there are no words for good ending. The breakfast was very disappointing, most people like more of choice for hot foods other then eggs & sausage. Like waffles, biscuits & gravy, sausage patties. What about fresh fuit and really have water available for customers at all times. I think it pretty sad when customers have to volunteer to mow the lawn and clean the front doors.
