Doubletree By Hilton Suzhou Wujiang

I first came to this hotel a couple of years ago and lived there until a few months ago. A place that makes me feel at home thanks to the hospitality of all the hotel staff. I have now been back for several weeks and the atmosphere is always nice and welcoming.

In all three rooms, the air conditioning was defective (the temperature at night was over 25 degrees), it was obvious that people had smoked in the rooms, the breakfast was mediocre, and the staff was not very helpful in resolving the issues.

This hotel is situated within a quiet neighbourhood surrounded by apartment buildings on 3 sides and a river. The location is not very accessible so families on holiday may wish to look at other locations that are nearer to train or bus stations without the need to take taxis everytime; the nearest train station is 3km away. There are a number of small family owned eateries within close vicinity of the hotel, these places offer a variety of local food and are all quite nice, I tried them all during my stay there, one of them opens till late, about 1am! There are also a couple of provision shops that sell all sorts of snacks and beverages as well as daily necessities. The staff at Doubletree by Hilton at Wujiang are well trained and provide excellent service. They are polite and helpful. The front desk staff are well trained and know their procedures well, the housekeeping staff made sure my room as thoroughly cleaned every day. The dining staff went out of their way to make me feel at home. One of their staff in particular, Mr Kyrie Wang, provided excellent service that was beyond what was required of him. In addition to helping me book taxis on a daily basis, as the WeChat app could not link to my credit card; without me asking, he took the initiative and helped me set up a service on my phone without the need to download anything so that I can book taxis and pay the driver cash. This really helped me a lot during my stay there. Thank you again Mr Kyrie Wang!
