Abbey Lawn Hotel

Location was ok, staff were helpfull, and the kippers at breakfast were really nice.

Unfortunetly the hotel was very run down especially the rooms very poor furniture and bathroom.

lovely place, a bit embarrising at breakfast there was no table for us, but was soon sorted by a very nice gentleman in a suit.

entrance hall needs a deep clean, just felt not a good 1st look.

We liked the swimming pool,darts,pool and the rooms view.

The shower would go hot and cold 🥶

The bed was comfortable and room was clean

The hotel is in desperate need of upgrade.the hole place looks worn out and is definitely not worth £96 a night

On arrival at 6pm we were told our room wasn't ready when check in at 3pm so should of been and because of this was given a different room where we would then need to transfer into a different room the next day which is not something you should have to do on a 2 night break as i like to organise my things to make it a easier stay rather than having to live out of suitcase which we had to due to being moved the next day The first room was clean but felt dirty due to the shabby furniture I couldn't sleep due to seeing bugs trapped in the tumble old style light fitting and just felt very itchy and uncomfortable due to very dirty carpets rust spots all in the bath which thank God that shower in that room worked eventually getting to sleep for the hour or so I did I was rudely awaken by the cleaners entering my room to tell me I had to depart that room and my actual room was ready so i had to shout at her to get out as i was sleeping and at 8.30am that was definitely not acceptable especially trying to enter my room while having a do not disturb sigh on the outdoor when I got up washed and dressed I then had to lug all my case and bag to the 3rd where I had a lovely view ripped seating so wasn't able to sit on as they were also very dirty dusty old thing bed was comy and that room did feel slightly cleaner but with the most squicky floorboards ever and the went to have a shower in the horrid shower cubicle to have it not work where the water trickled out so wasnunable to shower properly at all 🙃 I don't usually complain about hotels but this hotel charging between £70/£90 a night is absolutely disgusting we decided to stay another night in Torquay but booked a b and b at £60 a night which was luxury compared to those hotel and feel the state on this hotel should be charging no more than a maximum of £50 if that
