Ocean View Hotel

Not until arrival were we told that all the amenities were closed . We had a young child with us who was looking forward to swimming only to find the pool was shut. The hotel was shabby inside and out . The whole hotel needs to be closed and refurbished then it will 4 star .

Location is perfect and rooms are spacious especially if you have room with a balcony and sea sea view.

Very old hotel,not clean at all.Hair is on bedding also on a chair next to a coffe table.Windows not clean.Furniture is very old and need a refurbishment, beds are so uncomfortable not good sleep ,very tired.Never seen that cheap beds in a hotels before and sleep its so important on your holidays. Very poor hotel insulation,you can hear everything, have a very noisy neighbours and because is not service phone in a room how can you report to the reception 🙂 Balcony it's very large but not any single chair to sit down and enjoy the view of sea. Didn't go for breakfast or dinner so can't tell anything but on arrival day checked the dinner menue and we made decision not to have dinner.

Great location with really nice sea views, especially in the morning. The hotel is in a good spot for getting down to Shanklin beach and nearby restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Room was decent for a short stay and the overall vibe was relaxed and quiet, which was nice.

The hotel is a bit dated in places and could do with some modernisation. Cleanliness could have been slightly better in certain areas, and some parts of the room felt worn. Parking can be a bit tight depending on when you arrive. For the price, I expected it to be a little more polished.

Our Bedroom with a nice seaview was on the 1st floor,however after taking the lift we had to go down steps up steps down steps through self closing doors and small corridors until we got to the room. It would be too much for an eldely couple or anyone with disabilities. After a long journey it was a bit of a bummer and a bit exhausting to get to the room but it was clean and big enough with plenty of hot water.Shower was good but parking would be an issue during the summer months and the only placw was in a bus spot.

The location of the property was probably the only best thing about the Hotel.

1. The pool was closed. We were not informed and the girls could not have a dip. It was the main reason for choosing this hotel. 2. The breakfast was of very poor quality. Did not have breakfast at the hotel after the 1 attempt. 3. The bed mattress spring was broken. Water pressure was very low in the shower hose as the bath tap was leaking water when the shower was being used in the mixer taps. Furniture was of poor quality. Overall the hotel needs spending money and upgrade its facilities. I had to spray the room for a fresh feel when we first checked in.
