Budget Inn property was not quite what we expected. Run down, when we checked in thought they were kidding about putting us in this hotel. We got to the room and the air conditioning was not working. The front desk at the Super 8, where we needed to check in were super. They quickly put us in a Super 8 room that was very acceptable. Budget Inn should not take reservations, until the property is cleaned and ready to use.

The place was horrible. Checked in a 8pm and the room wasn't even ready. The main office locked and closed. Had to get keys from the Super 8 Motel. It had broken or no windows on the second floor. REFUSED TO STAY! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!

This had to be the worst experience I've ever had. When we arrived, writing on a plywood board told us to check in at the Super 8. That should have been a red flag, And the second red flag -- there is a state penitentiary next door to both. The Budget in should have been called "Need to be demolished" Inn. It did not appear to have any guests. We checked in at the Super 8. The staff gave us a key to a room where you could see light through the doorway and the toilet didn't work. We went back. After finishing their cigarettes, they came inside and gave us three choices - a room where there was a hole in the wall (they wouldn't charge us for) -- I gave that key right back; a room that faced the penitentiary (and there didn't appear to be any other guests on that side of the building),;and a room where there seemed to be new species of insects running around. None of the rooms had Wi-Fi, and one did not have the two beds we specified. It was awful. The high plains, The penitentiary. The employees who smelled of smoke and did not have full sets of teeth. I almost asked if the owners' names were Bates. Before I did that, I called Expedia. Adam answered, and very nicely helped me cancel the room with no charges. And I promised this review -- the details will definitely be worked in to a longer short story..... So there were some "benefits." We were lucky to find a room at the Microtel further west in Bush, Colorado. It was lovely. Thank you Expedia for helping me!

"It should be torn down"

2.0

The abandoned motel has grass growing up through the side walks and really looked deserted. Even the people operating it from the other motel say it should be torn down and we agree!

The Budget Inn was next to a Super 8, where we checked in. The key would not work in our door, twice. The Budget Inn looked very run down. Weeds grew in the parking lot.Between the two motels stood another abandoned motel that had had a fire. We felt lucky that we could not get into our room. The desk clerk finally gave us a room in the Super 8, which was a huge relief.

This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. The room smelled terrible, like it hadn't been deep-cleaned in years and someone chain smoked in it even though it was a non-smoking room. This was a temporary stop along a lengthy cross country drive and I honestly felt like I would have been better off sleeping in my car at a rest stop. This place also has an unoccupied building with smashed windows. Definitely not worth 50-60 bucks. Nasty.

"Bates motel"

6.0

The hotel appears abandoned, the reception area, It's dark and shuttered, As you have to check in at the super 8 next door, no sign on the reception area at all staring this, if a guest hadn't walked by while we happened to be pulling on the door, we would have left and continued driving. The room was a 54 $ a night room, enough to sleep in.
