Isla Tijereto

The hotel is located on a tiny island with only a few houses and other resorts. The premises are perfect to relax, do nothing, read a good book, lay in the hammocks, watch the sunset. I liked the idea of the outdoor shower and bathroom (no warm water though).

The rooms are very basic, especially for the price. There are a lot of mosquitoes, but no mosquito nets on the beds, which makes a good night sleep impossible. There is no water filter system, the only way to get water is to buy it in the restaurant, at a restaurant price... and this gives a special tone to the whole stay. You cannot really eat or shop elsewhere but in the hotel restaurant, which is quiet expensive even for an island and the portions are extra small. Half a cup of tea, tiny juice cups, the back part of a chicken with two bites of meat on it.... Actually, this was the first hotel in Colombia where we felt that they just want as much of our money for as little service as possible. 

The ocean and the view

we had booked two airconditioned rooms with shower and toilet. none of the rooms actually have airconditioning and even the the fans do work, due to a lack of electricity. In this climate the lack of aircon implies hot and sticky nights the lack of electicity even implies restictions for charging mobile phones… 🤨 We did not appeciate staff randomly entering our rooms to check if we were not using electricity. we would recommend any of the other accomodations on the island!

- The privacy is great - Good place for total relaxation as there’s only really one proper beach you can lie on (it’s gorgeous and super tranquil!) - The room we stayed in was gorgeous. Basic (as expected on an island like this!) but done very nicely and so, so clean! - The wonderful lady who works there (can’t remember her name - so sorry!) made my partner a birthday cake completely from scratch with very little notice after learning it was his birthday - this was SUCH a nice touch and made the day so special - The lady was so kind and couldn’t do enough to help us/get us what we needed

- We felt the whole thing was really quite overpriced for what it is - Staff speaking outside of our room on a morning - Food wasn’t among the best that we ate in this part of the Caribbean Coast (and was some of the more expensive food that we ate, actually)

Muy bueno todo me encanto

El hotel es cómo y muy privado, tiene dos frentes de mar. puedes salir a caretear hay un arrecife coralino muy cerca, puedes ir nadando. Un menu variado de comida de mar, pero también incluye otras opciones por si no quieres pescado. Es un hotel verdaderamente ecológico, ya que funcionan con paneles solares (hay energía 24 horas). El internet es muy estable, me hubiera gustado quedarme mas tiempo ya que pude usar internet todo el tiempo.
