Wingate by Wyndham St Louis-Fenton Route 66

Nothing was very clean (crumbs and smudges in the room, hallways and stairs were dirty the whole stay), the tub wouldn't drain during showers, and no one answered the front desk phone.

I am very disappointed with my stay at the Wingate by Wyndham. I initially booked one night but ended up extending my stay day by day for several additional nights. While there are other Wyndham properties nearby that I could have chosen, I stayed for convenience to avoid packing and relocating. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. My room had multiple maintenance issues, including a backed-up toilet, a faulty ironing board that repeatedly collapsed, and an iron that leaked water onto my clothes. Additionally, on Saturday morning, there was no complimentary breakfast available despite it being advertised. What was most frustrating was the lack of customer consideration. After extending my stay for several days, I requested a late checkout on Sunday due to fatigue. I was told this would cost an additional $35 rather than being offered as a courtesy. Overall, I did not feel valued as a guest. Given the number of nearby hotel options, I regret not choosing a different location and would not recommend staying here based on my experience.

Check-in was smooth and host allowed the room charge to be split between myself and my traveling partner. This was a pleasant surprise since the last few times at this location, we were not allowed to do that, and that created problems for us.

The room was very disappointing. There was no hair dryer. There was no coffee maker. There weren't any cups in the room to take a drink of water with a pill. After check-in on the first day, returning to the room on the second day and the door key card would not let us in the outer door to the building. New cards had to be requested at the front desk, and they did NOT open the door to our room. It took another visit to the front desk to get something to work. THIS IS INEXCUSABLE!
