The property is nice and the staffs are courteous but the dining is not guests friendly, restaurant only serves on hotel's schedule.

一级棒的酒店。餐特别好吃，早饭，晚饭，会席，房间点餐，都非常好。餐太好了！房间也很好，宽敞，私汤也非常棒。酒店员工服务也很好。几点不足：1）房间内的榻榻米有一个二十厘米的高度，拌了我一个跟头，腿摔青了。2）酒店没有正规的洗衣服务，但服务员可以帮助拿去洗，也不要钱，但我还是有点奇怪这么高级的酒店居然没有洗衣服务。3）酒店的地点确实比较偏僻，周围基本没什么东西，驾车到基本比较热闹的地方，要一个小时。不过这个见仁见智吧。总之，这是一个非常好的酒店，绝对值得。

A memorable stay. Excellent and impressive services, 10/10. Really appreciated their warm caring. Area is quite, clean and comfy. Highly recommended to this place though its quite expensive. But definitely worth it.

I've had my fair share of luxury hotels...six senses, rosewood, aman resorts. But Hoshinoya didn't come across my radar until my family and I booked a trip to Taiwan. Its been well over a month since our stay here...and I am still in awe of the beauty and quality of this hotel. We had three nights here with our 16 month old daughter in February and it was one of the highlights of our asia trip. I loved my mornings with my toddler in our japanese soaking tub, taking in the incredible mountain views. I read a few reviews that complained about the cleaning of the onsens and timing of the meals. Yes this is inconvenient, but I believe the hotel has incredibly high standards for cleanliness and quality, so we didn't mind at all having set meals times etc. The restaurant at the hotel is STUNNING overlooking their incredible gardens and the food is of the highest caliber. Healthy, delicious and beautiful. I loved the pajamas and daywear clothes the hotel provided. They were comfortable and so fashionable! My toddler looked adorable in her kimono. The staff at this hotel was also top of the line. I had so many incredible conversations with those at guest services or even the guy cleaning the pool. We were not easy guests...bringing a toddler to a spa hotel. But we never got the feeling from anyone there that our child was an imposition, only a joy. I think some of the negative reviews left here must be from westerners. My husband and I are from the west but quite familiar with how luxury japanese hotels operate...they are very different from a western hotel. They are peaceful...there arent any "party vibes." Its just not a place you stay to eat and drink all you want by the pool. My only criticism of this hotel are the beds...and maybe this is because im from the west? The beds were essentially mattresses on the floor with no support. I was about 13 weeks pregnant on this trip, and did have some back pain as a result.
