There was no hot water
AUUSMade to order breakfast, whole facility very clean, comfortable bed, heater in the room makes cozy nights in January when I statyed. Very quiet throughout the day and night.
Takes a little while to get hot water in the shower. Wifi is a little slow at times. Although all are adequate. Can hear the church bell from 6:30 am on, but not too disruptive to sleep.
CAA Magical Experience at Hotel Casa Maricela I cannot recommend Hotel Casa Maricela enough! Our one-day stay coincided with the city’s 200th-anniversary celebration, and it was an experience I will never forget. Highlights of Our Stay: • The Best View in Town: We watched the anniversary fireworks directly from the hotel’s rooftop. It provided a stunning, unobstructed view of the festivities—truly a "money can’t buy" moment. • Impeccable Cleanliness: The hotel is super clean and well-maintained. • A Friendly Crowd: Interestingly, over 90% of the fellow travelers we met—at the hotel and around the city—were from Vancouver, Victoria, or Seattle! It made for a very friendly and familiar atmosphere. • Delicious Breakfast: The breakfast was a highlight. Beyond the great coffee and fresh fruit plates, we were served delicious omelettes as a main course. Final Thoughts: This isn't just a "3-star hotel"—it’s a gateway to an authentic and unforgettable experience. Between the incredible hospitality and the perfect location for the city's bicentennial, it was the highlight of our trip.
I have one major piece of advice for the management: Please retake your room photos! The current pictures online do not do the rooms justice; the actual rooms are much nicer, more updated, and more comfortable than they look in the photos.
