"Good hotel but expensive depending on the season"

8.0

This hotel was very nice. The staff were very helpful when asking about how to get to local places. The location was very good, right off the main strip. It is located near shopping and a short walk to the old town area. The room size was average with a big tv and enough outlets. There was a separate door so that the bedroom area was not right as soon as you walked in (so you have a shoe area). The bathroom was a pretty good size with a very big shower. The hotel room was clean and very pleasant. It was quiet and I heard no noises from outside or inside the hotel. I slept soundly. The beds were very comfortable. The water pressure was good. The only thing that was small was the elevator and the parking under the hotel is only for maybe 5 cars but I assume most people don't come there in cars. Since the hotel is on a main shopping street the street is mostly full of people walking so it is hard to drive down the street. If you are staying at this hotel be aware that driving into the parking lot may be a slow process.

"Slept very well. "

8.0

Some people complained about the noise but we found it to be quite what soundproof and heard no street noise and slept well. Not a flash hotel the room was a little dated but overall it was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a bit limited but the location is good close to tons of restaurants and about 20 minutes walk to the Hanok village.

"Good location, a bit noisy but convenient"

8.0

I'm local here in Korea and traveled Jeonju with my family for holidays. We stayed in double delux room. The room was suitable for 3 people.(You need to pay for extra charge for the extra person) The hotel is in the city center which means super convenient location but noisy. It takes only 10-15 minutes to get to traditional village and market. Breakfast was ok and it was so nice that they gave us socks for amenity ;) Staffs were kind and helpful. But a girl with glasses was somewhat unkind. I asked her for information abt the city but she answered unfriendly eventhough she wasn't busy at all :( Overall, this hotel is nice and convenient. But somewhat noisy and expensive. If u don't have plan to stay in traditional style guesthouse, it'll be suitable to stay here in this hotel :)

"We recommend this hotel"

10.0

At Benikea Hansung Hotel (43-3, Jeonjugaeksa 5-gil, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do 560-802, South Korea, tel. 063-288-0014, e-mail: hs_hotel@naver.com, www.hotelhunsung.kr), our Suite Room 301 cost KRW120,000 for Thursday, KRW 140,000 for Friday and Saturday and KRW 120,000 for Sunday and Monday. Our room had an entry hall for shoes. Then a sitting room with a desk and stool, a large rosewood sofa and two huge rosewood side chairs. There was a coffee table and a flat screen TV on the wall. There was also a mini fridg in that room. We actually missed having a microwave. The bedroom was long and had two beds, one at each end of the room. There was a closet and also a piece of furniture to put clothes into. There was an area for our water boiler and snacks too. Audre used a round table in the bedroom and a chair for her desk. The bed only had a cotton bed skirt/dust ruffle on top with a quilt. Audre went into the laundry storeroom and found a fitted bottom sheet and put that on the bed. There were no flat sheets so we used the bed skirt/dust ruffle as our top sheet with the quilt. It worked okay. The windows in both the sitting room and the bedroom were frosted over. There was no view anyway with the shopping street below and similar height buildings across the way. There was an air conditioner in both the sitting room and the bedroom. The bathroom was large and had a Jacuzzi tub in it (that did not work and probably will never work), a pedestal sink, a toilet with full a spraying system, and a (non-enclosed) giant-head shower in the corner which drained into the floor of the bathroom. We made a barrier with towels in the bathroom and it did not get too flooded when we showered. The room was comfortable and with air conditioning fairly quiet during the day and very quiet at night. The hotel lobby was nice and bright with many pieces of art. Art was on all of the walls and in all of the halls (some was glass encased). It gave the hotel a nice look and feel. Unfortunately the Internet was “on again/off again” and very annoying (even though we had a router outside our room). Additionally, there was very little English spoken. When we asked about their laundry service, the front desk called a translation service and Audre talked “through” the translation service. There was no laundry service offered in the hotel but they would wash our (puny amount of) laundry for KRW 10,000 as a special favor. Breakfast was included in the price of the room in a (former) restaurant on the second floor. It was the same every day. There was rice of course. One cream of chicken soup and one Korean soup, salad with dressing, gimbap (like a sushi roll), banana pieces and cherry tomatoes. There was dry cereal and milk too. The hot breakfast was Korean French toast, French fries, and toast and butter. There was also a drink like juice, coffee, tea and milk. One day, there was a new person in charge who offered to make fried eggs. Boy was Dimitri happy. Outside our hotel was a hubbub of activity on a limited car-use street. There were zillions of shops with blaring music and zillions of young people strolling and smooching. The Starbucks on the corner was packed. Interesting. We found lunch places galore around our hotel. For dinner we typically went to the Hanok Village, which was in convenient walking distance.
