"The sea views and beach access make up for an expensive B&B room with small breakfast."

5.0

The room was nice with a seaview. Access to the beach, although the path down was overgrown and neglected. The two staff were pleasant for the short time they were on site.

All felt a bit neglected, bathroom grout was black around shower, garden overgrown. Breakfast was limited & small portions. Cobwebs on the windows in dining room. Expensive for what you got. Not sure would call it boutique accommodation.

"Stunning location, lovely room, but the stairway is very challenging."

7.0

The location is stunning. I love this place for nostalgic reasons. My parents celebrated their Ruby Wedding here in 1990. My husband and I had a lovely lunch here just a few years ago. The sea views are gorgeous. Our room and en suite bathroom were very spacious and comfortable.

The very minimal staffing. Having to let ourselves in using a code. Discovering that our room was up an extremely narrow staircase. Our suitcases would hardly fit sideways! We are both in our 70's, and getting our luggage into the room was a major struggle. The cereal choice at breakfast was very limited. It seems such a terrible waste that this hotel no longer offers evening meals. The view from the restaurant is fabulous. The paths down from the garden are really overgrown now. There's such wasted potential here.

"Lovely large room with fantastic views"

7.0

Lovely stylish decor, beautiful location

More a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel. Had to ask for extra toiletries as only 1 sachet of shampoo etc for 2 people for 2 nights. Maybe biscuits in the room and fruit and yoghurts for breakfast as only a very limited selection of cereal was available.

"Very disappointing but owner did apologise"

1.0

Location lovely, arrived at Hotel and no one there to meet me, couldnt get into Hotel so went round the back, finally able to get in but then no indication as to what room I was in. Picked a key from behind the reception. I tried to ring the contact number many times no reply. No reply to answer machine messages. Had to stay at hotel and unable to leave that night to eat as unsure if doors would be locked and I was unable to get back in. I decided to leave at 6.40am the next morning feeling very unwell and stressed - Taxi cost £64 bck to Train station. Didnt hear anything from anyone until later that morning. Have since spoken to the owner who sincerely apologised and explained that isnt the level of service usually and he offered complete refund. Reassured that the owner listened to me re fire safety issues and lack of service upon my arrival. Awful experience but handled well when the owner finlly spoke to me

"A compatible room but but a very soulless place"

4.0

Location is wonderful and view from room excellent, but grossly overcharged for a very soulless experience.

For a very expensive b and b the breakfast was very disappointing.nobody on duty to show us where to sit or advise us what was on offer.for the price paid we would expect a hot breakfast to be on the menu. Crocks not removed from the tables used.
