Marriott St. Louis West

Checking in was quick and simple- front desk staff were great. Good parking options as well felt like a secure area-including a covered parking garage. Room was definitely good but when my wife went to take a shower there was no shower curtain. It was 1145pm (we checked in late) and she was too tired to bother calling the front desk. Bed was comfortable and that helped. In the morning we went to have breakfast at the restaurant but after waiting approximately 10 minutes and seeing no one to help or seat anyiobe, and two other couples had gotten in line behind us, we gave up and decided to grab food on the road as we needed to head out. Guessing they must have been short staffed, which does occur, but just left this stay feeling lackluster compared to what we are accustomed to at a Marriott.

I wanna start by saying that the check-in process was pretty simple and the front desk was friendly. I had a few issues along the way. One is I realize that I booked with the breakfast (otherwise you have to pay $20 per person). I had to pay the first day and then after breakfast, I had went up to the front and they said they made a mistake when they checked me in and then gave me complementary cards used for the rest of my stay. But no offer to rectify the fact that I had to pay because of a mistake they made. The rooms are in desperate need of updates. The shower curtain in my bathroom was all torn and you could tell it has been there for a long time. The hotel host a lot of conferences, so it was very loud all night long. The elevators had long waits, it would take 25 to 30 minutes to get on the elevator, and the stairs are not accessible For the price that I paid, I was not pleased. The location though was great. The pools were very small for the amount of people that stay in that hotel at any given weekend. It is not a hotel I would stay at again in the future.

Room temp

The room was very dirty, small things like lots of grime build up in corners of the room. Neither phones worked. No toilet paper. TV had fuzzy lines. Stains on the walls. Overall sloppy maintenance & poor housekeeping l. Workout room & Indoor pool were functional but not wel maintained. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND if looking for a decently cleaned hotel.

The staff is really friendly and helpfull. I really like that AC works very quiet, but in the room we had two burned out bulbs and the toilet had strange noise once in while.

Where do I start? This hotel is by far the worst we have ever stayed at. There were about 20 teams of young soccer boys staying there while we were there. Ryan, the front desk manager, unilaterally decided to change the rules and extend the outside pool hours from 9 to 10:00 pm on both Friday and Saturday nights which meant an extra hour of screaming kids outside our window. We called him twice and he basically said they have no control of the outside noise on their property which is simply untrue. They also closed the M club on the weekends which no other full service Marriott does. They explained to me it was because they were still trying to get their staffing up after Covid. ( 3 years ago) The hotel is run down, beds not comfortable, we even saw cracker pieces on floor next to bed that never were vacuumed before we arrived. Air conditioner was loud, and our 5 night stay was beyond depressing. Ryan needs to be fired for his incompetence, dismissive behavior and BRO mentality. We never received a Marriott survey after our stay ( not surprising), which is why I have written on trip advisor, although my husband did file a complaint with Marriott naming Ryan specifically.

Good breakfast and excellent service.

Our room was noisy and warm. The arrangement of furniture was awkward at best. Very dated room and needs renovations.

Pool is A LOT smaller than shown in pictures, other than that nice hotel and clean
