Average to disappointing Hampton Inn. Building has seen better days. Carpet in hallways had stains, ceiling tiles were worn, doors were beat up with areas of peeling paint, walls in hallways were scuffed. Elevator was beat-up; area around elevator buttons was poorly maintained, with peeling wallpaper. Cannot help but think that less than daily housekeeping (it is offered only once every other day) has contributed to this hotel feeling scruffier than a Hampton Inn should. It also results in things like dirty towels on hallway floors, which were present during my stay. Towels in my room were clean but thin and overused. The air conditioning could not keep up with the (admittedly extreme) Florida heat. This, the room was very warm and sleep was not ideal. The room had an in-wall thermostat; this was broken, and the temperature had to be controlled in a unit behind the window. Inexplicably, during the hottest part of the afternoon, the hotel had its lobby doors wide open. Thus the lobby area had flies around it and was so hot as to be unusable by guests. Breakfast was poor. For example, coffee was lukewarm. No regular creamer was available --only sweetener and flavored creamers.

The breakfast was absolutely perfect, deliciously fresh. However, the lobby and café area were very hot; I thought the A/C might be broken.

My room had an underlying wet dog or urine smell that was very annoying and unexpected. There were some huge red ants in my bed, and I managed to crush one of them. I was worried all night that they might bite my toddler. I booked for two beds i got put in a room with one bed.
