Hampton Inn White Plains/Tarrytown

My wife and I stayed here tonight and were in disbelief at the poor overall physical condition. How can Hilton/Hampton allow this badly run-down hotel to use their name? We've been to many hotels over the years and my wife & I agree we've never stayed at a hotel in such disrepair. The outside grounds are terrible, crumbling cement and trip hazards everywhere. We couldn't believe how gross the side entrance is. Greeted by a large (dry) stain on the carpet entering our room. Had to call front desk to make sure they knew it wasn't from us. Shower tub in poor condition. We stayed at 2 different Home2 Suites previous nights and both were modern, clean & super overall, so how can this place be in the same corporation? Also Hilton chain is great for accepting pets overall but this place is no good for dogs with no walking area at all. Only plus was very nice and helpful young lady at front desk.

Gym is having literally 90s instruments with rust and half not working, building is old, and internal bathroom fixtures and rooms need lot of uplift compared to rates we are paying. Breakfast was also ok. Reception was courteous and welcoming is only plus.

The view from the hotel is lovely. Staff is nice and they offer coffee 24/7 plus extra snacks for guests at different times of the day!

Small trash cans in the room that get get full quickly if you’re staying for a week.

When I checked in I was given a room on the 5th floor. The room smelled so bad like mildew. There was mold on the lamp shades, it hadn’t been cleaned. There was a dirty towel in the tub, the toilet paper roll was torn like someone used it. Usually it’s folded nicely. It clearly wasn’t cleaned. I requested another room and they moved me to the 4th floor. That room was cleaner, but it still had a musty smell to it and the carpet was disgusting! I spilled a bottle of water on the floor so I grabbed a towel to soak it up and the towel turned brown and yellow! So gross, I wouldn’t walk on the floor without shoes on. The breakfast was just okay. The eggs are powdered, not real. They had oatmeal that was horrible, it didn’t taste like oatmeal. Then I had a family emergency and needed to leave Sunday morning (prior to checkout time) when I was supposed to stay until Monday morning. I checked out ahead of time and told them I had an emergency. They didn’t care. Even after having the booking site contact them, they still refused to refund the one night I couldn’t stay. I gave them plenty of time to clean the room and rebook it. Overall, I would not stay there again. The building is very old and out of date. Stay down the road at the Marriot. It’s nicer in there!
