Owner is friendly and helpful. Rooms are very small but have all you need (bed, bathroom, small fridge, some storage). The location is great: central, safe, short walk to the station and a lot of budget food options around. This area is quite busy with students.

Building is in okay condition but a bit old and "makeshift" style. Nothing to complain for this price, but you should be aware that this type of housing is usually for students on a budget studying for government exams. So if you're on a budget, or need a cheap place to just sleep, it's great.

Shower could use some renovation

I was glad to find this place as Seoul was totally booked (for rooms with private baths). I looked for places up to $200. The higher price showed places, but with terrible reviews. This place was like many in Japan-- tiny (actually tinier) like a dorm room, but without the luxuries provided in Japan (decor, onsen baths, staff, excessive toiletries, etc). I had no problem providing my own soap, toothbrush, etc. But using pandemic regulations as an excuse is ridiculous-- all other places in Korea provided everything including slippers, robe, etc. I was happy without them, but many people would not be. Also, there is a big deposit in CASH required. Be ready. If you are flying out after your stay, be prepared to negotiate something or you will have a lot of KOW when you leave. I also didn't mind doing the recycling and bagging up and taking out my garbage-- just be prepared for no trash can and no plastic bag provided. I did appreciate having a window, I could open, the great hot water and pressure of the hand held nozzle for bathing and drying racks for washing clothes. The kitchen has little to recommend it. There was no drinking water in the dispenser 2 of 3 days I went there. I never saw the 'free ramen' that was supposed to be available. I actually was comfortable and appreciated the space-- just want to prepare other travelers who may expect more. The owner was very nice and his son did his best, but the reality is that you will only see them when checking in and out if you make arrangements in advance There is no one around to answer questions or give assistance. If you stay in the dormitory in the basement, you may have help from other travelers. Solo travelers in the individual rooms may not ever see anyone. I didn't--except one day when a guy stopped me at the door for help. He and another guy were trying to check out (remember they had a hefty deposit to get back!), but no one was there.

Cheapest personal bathroom and shower. Short walk to buses and subway. Fantastic food options nearby.

Bed too small for taller people. No secondary lightning fixtures.
