I know it couldn’t be helped but there was an alarm that went off every 2 minutes telling us to stay in our room and the elevators were not in use. It lasted about 1.5 hrs. The problem was on the 3rd level. It made us very uncomfortable.

Location is superb.

1st of all there wasn't any signage indicating that there is a covered garage area that you drive into to access the lobby. The street signage was also lacking to tell one where the entrance was for foot traffic. The hotel is tired, it really needs a refresh, especially the guest rooms. The king bed room was bare. There was a large 100 square foot area without any furnishings - could easily of accommodated another arm chair or loveseat so that there was somewhere to sit and visit with one's partner other than on the bed. In the restaurant a big fat mouse ran by our lounge seating - yuck!

The staff are exceptional. This is my second stay, and I like the hotel.

The guests. There were teams staying there, they were very disruptive, rude and basically treated the hotel like they owned it. Garbage left in the hallways to be picked up by staff. Loud obnoxious people, slamming doors and yelling talking at 3am. The front desk was very accommodating, offering to move me to another area of the hotel. The staff are amazing, I just wished they got the respect they deserve.

I have to say that the lay out is the most confusing that I have ever been in. We came in town early to meet some family before checking in. Parked in the garage that is attached to the mall, then tried to figure out how to get to the hotel lobby. There was no signage until you entered the mall, which then had some signs pointing out the way to go. A couple elevators and a slight tour of the mall later, then we finally found the lobby. We actually went around the block the first time to find the doors to the lobby, that were up some icy, delapitated cement stairs. Once checked in you have to use your door card to get the elevator to take you to the room floors. Room was ok, with a slight glimpse of the harbour but more of a city view. Washroom was average and the bed was ok. Once finding the lounge, it felt more like you were in the mall food court than a hotel lounge, which was the same feel for the pool. The lounge food and service was good. Our stay coincided with some kids hockey teams, and their parents allowed them to run the halls and yell until the wee hours of the night. The HVAC unit was very noisy. They also charged us for one day of parking, even though I think parking in that garage is free on weekends ?? The upside was, that the location is handy to most pubs.
