Chelsea Hotel Toronto

It was a 3 nights trip.Services was 100%.I really love and enjoyed every bit of it. Especially everything that felt cozy and access to everywhere.

The location being downtown was convenient for what we were doing.

There was someone else’s dirty sock left in the room. Where was no electric plug outside the bathroom for ironing. We upgraded the room with promise of city views but all we got was the next high rise building we could almost reach out and touch.

We found the hotel to be very clean and staff generally to be very helpful. The check in process was annoyingly slow but once in our room found it to be large, comfortable and clean. The first night we ate in the hotel’s Elm Tavern restaurant. Service was ridiculously slow although when we were served, the food & drink were very good. Waitresses seemed to be almost running between tables unable to cope with the relatively low number of customers. As the food was good we decided to eat there again on our final evening. We were told there were no tables available although we could see several unoccupied. After pointing this out, we were shown to a table. One complaint with the restaurant manager, Raj, was unresolved. He appeared to lack any knowledge on how to resolve customer feedback and looked like a rabbit in headlights. If he had spent more time supervising rather than delivering food to tables then maybe the restaurant would run more effectively. He seemed unable to grasp what his role was and as our complaint was not resolved left us with a disappointing impression of the hotel. The hotel is very large and busy, especially with lots of World Cup fans present, and is well located although a fair distance from the CN tower. We overlooked Gerrard St W so had a great view of the neighbouring skyscrapers and busy main roads. If you do visit then take a click with you as none are present in the rooms. Finally the maids do a great job of keeping the rooms in good shape.
