"Be Aware of the HIDDEN FEE!!"

Hidden Destination Fees – Be Aware I recently stayed at this hotel as part of a group booking. While some aspects were positive, there is an important issue future guests should be aware of. The hotel charges a daily “Destination Fee” ($25 per night per room), which is not clearly explained at check-in and is not included in the visible room rate. Instead, vouchers (coffee, drinks, etc.) are presented in a way that feels optional or complimentary, without clearly stating that this fee is mandatory—even if not used. For a multi-room, multi-night stay, this resulted in a significant unexpected cost. When I raised this issue, the initial response was polite and included an apology. However, when I asked for a resolution, the explanation focused on the fact that I had “agreed” to it during booking. While this may exist in fine print, it does not address the core issue: the fee was not clearly explained, the presentation was misleading, and there was no clear breakdown of what the charge actually covered. Most guests do not realistically review every detail of booking terms—especially when the on-site experience suggests otherwise. I did receive a partial adjustment, which I acknowledge. However, I am not satisfied with the outcome. A substantial portion of the charges remains, and I do not believe it is reasonable for guests to bear this cost under unclear and misleading circumstances. As a guest, I had no meaningful awareness or choice regarding this fee. I hope the hotel improves transparency and handles such concerns more fairly in the future.
