Hampton Inn Memphis-Walnut Grove/Baptist East

My bathroom needed vacuuming in floor and the halls and elevator floors were not the cleanest. My room was clean and bedding nice . Front desk staff was nice

Checked in briefly. The room was not very clean and had a bad odor. We soon discovered bed bugs and immediately left. We did notice many rooms that had plastic tarps covering the doors. I can’t believe a hotel can stay open while they are treating for bed bugs!

Property well maintained,pool area was nice and clean,a lot of parking space and parking security was wonderful!!

Location and the Breakfast

First, none of the channels on the televison had a signal. Had to watch movies and tv on my cell phone for 2 days. The remote control was broken also with dead batteries. Also, when I called the front desk no one would ever answer the phone. Tried calling numerous times from phone in the room. So i went and sat in the lobby and called the hotel front desk from my cell phone and the lady never would answer the phone. She just let in ring until I hung up.

No one cleans the stairwell theres a cup of apple juice and broken down cigars that's been sitting there my last 2 visits

The only reason I didn’t give this one star is because the bed and pillows were comfortable, so I slept well. The temperature was freezing even set up to 80 degrees, so we had to sleep with the air off. I could not connect to the internet, but when I tried to call the front desk, the phone didn’t work, and I eventually discovered that there was no cord to plug it into the wall. The electrical outlet on one side of the bed did not work, but fortunately I had an extension cord so that my husband could plug in his CPAP machine. The toilet leaked, so we had to put down towels on the bathroom floor to prevent possible slips and falls. There was also a very wet spot on the carpet that looked like someone had spilled coffee or a coke. I might have requested to be moved to another room, but we were too exhausted after a long drive and spending several hours at the hospital. As to customer service, the clerk on the front desk when we left was very nice about calling the hospital shuttle for us, but the one on the desk when I checked in acted like she’d rather have been anywhere else but at that front desk.
