very poor service and very long wait times at both restaurants. Lack of interest from the front desk when this was mentioned

The location was excellent. Bed was very comfortable.

The staff need better trained!!! They were hideously rude. Our AC broke in 43 degrees and they offered us a fan or the option to leave the hotel! We were stunned! Morgan the guest relations manager did help us and moved us to a room with air con the next day.

Site and grounds are beautiful. First contact staff ie greeting/bellhop services are impeccable as is the concierge staff. Location is fabulous.

We arrived the morning of day 1 of a record breaking heatwave. When provided with our room, it had not been set up with the required bed configuration and had to be redone. Upon entering the room, we immediately felt it warm but we assumed time was required for system climate regulation. We fiddled with the room’s AC controls but still ended up with a dreadfully sleepless night. The next morning (24hrs into the heatwave), we went to reception to enquire about the situation: NO forthcoming AC system breakdown information was provided, AT ALL. In fact, we were given the impression that this issue was one of “personal room climate preference” and no suggestion nor solution was offered. It was left up to us to request a fan for the room. Even upon delivery of the fan, staff were acting as if it was a temporary room issue and telling us they will have “someone look into it”. After a second sleepless night, I requested a second fan. When, at the end of the day, no fan was provided, I was finally told about the systemic breakdown + that it was being looked into. Unfortunately and more importantly, unfathomably, the issue was not resolved prior to our departure (we had a 4 night/5 days stay). How is it possible for a Waldorf to (1) not have proper emergency repair preparedness solutions at all times, (2) have such poor management practises as to keep staff unaware of critical comfort impacting information or, worse, to direct staff to feign ignorance and (3) have such poor judgment as to not even inform their clientele of the situation, nor provide an apology for the inconvenience! A well drafted message with a complementary meal/drink would have been a minimal appreciated damage control policy, but alas. We will not forget our stay as much as we wish we could and are looking into replacement accomodation strategies, for future travel. *Lastly, some staff perpetuate the insulting habit of insisting on speaking English with francophones of non-Parisian accents.
