ibis Nice Centre Gare

Staff lovely and helpful. Hotel basic reasonably priced good location and rooms cleaned so well. Sheets changed every day. I would recommend as the swimming pool was a great plus in the city. So close to train station for travel to Monaco day trip and a Cannes Day trip.

Great location right next to the train station. Very walkable and staff extremely friendly, especially Luca at the front desk.

Went to hotel room late in the evening and noticed that A/C in our room was not cooling. Reported the problem to clerk the following morning and requested another room. Clerk said that hotel was completely booked and could not switch us to another room and assured us that A/C problem would be fixed. Came in very late in the evening and A/C was still not cooling (it seemed like nobody had worked on it). Bottom line, we slept two nights without A/C. First time that I have stayed in this type of IBIS hotel. I also stayed in IBIS Styles while in France and the Styles are worth the extra money. I would not stay in another IBIS hotel unless it is the Styles.

Hotel staff were all friendly and understood my attempt at french, they happily spoke English. Hotel is good if you are just sleep and out most of the day. Shower had good pressure. Only down side, only one plug socket but this is something minor.

Clean functional room with clean pool and nice lobby/elevators. Small rooms but meet needs of city centre

Very convenient to train, airport and central town. Good breakfast.

Located right next to main station about 20 min walk from promenade anglais. Decent breakfast and bar area. Only downside is that rooms are small and en suite even smaller.

The bed was comfortable, the room and the bathroom were quite small and a bit cramped but the two windows helped. The wifi was perfect, the TV only had one english channel, but the cartoons in French were quite comical! The breakfast was very good with all the basics plus some yummy pastries. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful and my room was cleaned daily. Location was very good being next to the train station and about a 20 minute walk to old Town Nice, which for me was ideal considering I walk three miles daily! The tram is available about three blocks from the hotel for guests not wanting to walk as much as me. Buss 99 to and from the airport stops just outside (from airport) the hotel and in front of the train station for return to the airport for 6 euros. All in all the hotel was a good base at a reasonable cost!
